LOL

Re: Woofer: The 1400 Character Anti-Twitter

If twitter and woofer had a baby, would it be a birddog?

Re: Woofer: The 1400 Character Anti-Twitter

This is pretty entertaining. I love a good quality spoof, Woofer is the perfect name for the larger and much more vocal micro blog. Twitter has little tiny tweets, and well, Woofs have clearly a larger connotation. I like that they have 'characters' number.

Re: Woofer: The 1400 Character Anti-Twitter

A great idea. That's what happens when someone spends their day processing nothing more than <140 character "half-thoughts". I swear twitter is dumbing down our world. Regardless of all the hype Mashable and Twitcrunch spew. Unless you're writing in Haiku... Twitter makes people truncate thoughts. I applaud the makers of Woofer. Even if it is a joke... the English language should be respected, embraced and utilized.

RT@Shakespeare @Hemingway Twitr TxtSpk?!? I rite MidSumr Nite Dreem. 1 up ur 4 whom bell tolz. http:// somestupidurlshortener.com/...

Yeah... that sh*t is ***TOTALLY*** intellectual and classical thinking right? I dread the day high-school english lit consists of reading tweets and writing like that. <140 characters is NOT the way to go.

Twitter is GREAT for promoting your product announcements, sales, etc. Its pretty useless for transmitting truly meaningful thoughts and conversation.

P.S. Take a look at thinkexist.com. It is a wonderful quotation resource. Using twitter <140 character standards...roughly half of the world's "great quotes" can not even be disseminated by tweets. If you want to tweet a quote AND attribute the quote to the author...the percentage drops to about 25%. Therefore, the arbitrary limitations of Twitter, which are so beloved by the bleeding-edge herd, effectively reduce the illuminated wisdom of the world by up to 75%. Backwards is NOT the way we should be going with technology. Onwards. Upwards. Outwards.... (plug for http://extropy.org)

P.P.S. (in reply to Sikku's remark below "Dats too much.... Above all people will feel bored while reading all the 1400 characters all the time...")

Hmmm. I assume that's why noooooooobody has ever bothered to read any of these:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/b...

"The effort required to creating a lasting work of art, which will influence individuals and society for years to come, will always outweigh the short-term benefits of pandering to the fickle zeitgeist. Take the long view. It ALWAYS wins in the end game. " - me

Hmmm. I guess even that is too "boring", eh? 113 characters too long to post as a Tweet.

Re: Woofer: The 1400 Character Anti-Twitter

That's interesting, but it's too much effort to type up 1400 characters.
