I wonder who will be the first to get a twitter tattoo? - At least the inking is good, nothing worse than a badley done geeky tattoo.

I wonder what will he do if Wordpress change its name or something? Or if he will decide to use other more comfotable platform in the future?
It is the same like tatooing "I love Sarah forever" then you break up and later on you are falling in love with Lola:D

Ed Morita is a major fan of tattoos, often getting them to represent a major event or change in his life. He started blogging recently and the connection with people all over the world through his food blog and fascinating artistry with sweets and chocolate finding fans, it changed his life and he credits WordPress accordingly.

The fact is that he understood blogging and social media better than most immediately, opening up the placement of the permanent tattoo to his readers and put it where they voted the most, on his wrist/forearm.

Someone had to do it, and I'm honored to know that someone did not do it for the money, nor the gain, but for the life changing experience that comes with blogging, paying tribute to a program that helps millions of people have their say for free around the world. Ed is a caring, compassionate, and giving person who wanted to give back in a way, while carrying a reminder of his first blog. That's awesome.

I love Wordpress as much as the next guy, but there's no way I'd permanently tattoo my body with the logo. Mainly because I don't think Wordpress is eternal. At some point, as the Internet changes, it's always possible the software could become just a fond memory.

Tattooing a corporate logo is a dumb idea. There was probably a time when Microsoft seemed quirky and exciting. Heck, there was probably a time when Morton Thiokol seemed cool.

Now don't get me wrong, I love WordPress as much as anyone and I'll proclaim it far and wide. But a tattoo...umm no thanks. Though I have to say that Ed has now fixed his status as super geek with that one. At least it's a pretty sweet looking tattoo.

As tattoos go, that one isn't to bad. It's not like he tattooed dirty words or swastikas on his arm.

It’s not like he tattooed dirty words or swastikas on his arm.

Okay, sure, I'll grant you that. Of course, by the time you have to reach so low for a favorable comparison that you mention dirty words or swastikas, you pretty well make the point that it would have been better to find another design option, including keeping the space blank for later opportunities.

It's not so much that I'm reaching so low, as I'm just providing some perspective to the subject. Given the range of tattoos out there this is quite tame and unoffensive. It doesn't look to bad either. Even if he joined part of the crowd that doesn't like tattoos, he would need to be ashamed of this one.

With all the scrilla I've made via my Wordpress blog, I'd probably say... "F*ck it" and tattoo one of those bad boys too!

Heck, I've got dumber tattoos all over me. At least Wordpress has some serious significance in my life.

Unfortunately, the "W" may remind me a bit too much of our ex-prez!

    Two things:
    (1) There are clearly a lot of people who don't understand that you can cover a tat with another tat. People do it all the time. You can't go back to bare flesh without expensive treatments (and those don't always work... look at Angelina Jolie's bicep sometime, you can still make out the outline of the panther she had removed) but you can always cover it with new ink.

    (2) The tat in question is pretty well done but the circuit board could have been better. At least he got something done that means something to him. The only time I find tattoos stupid is when it's done by somebody without any forethought who walks in a points at a piece of flash and says "I want that".

    In answer to your questions:

    Yes to tattoos

    Yes to geek tattoos

Uber-yes to twittering the process of getting geek tattoos!

Tattoos are personal, no one here has the right to say anything other than, "I wouldn't have done that."

    just my dos centavos,

    Matty
