Mashable - The Social Media Guide: What Will the Return of Steve Jobs Mean for Apple?

I think Steve Jobs' return to Apple gives the company an atmosphere of unity and a person to look up to when technology needs a twist.

Nice to have Steve back, but Apple is more than back on its feet. Time to start diversifying the "face of Apple".

mr jobs will always be the apple man. but he's only human. if he needs to take a backseat to get a good rest from all that he's been through, so be it.

nope, not disappointed. just glad he's recovering well and back in some ways :D

Note to Author: As you are probably more of a techie than a writer, I just wanted to point out for your own benefit that this article is not exactly of the best grammatical nature. You stated that three things were going to change with Steve Jobs' return - "What is going to change, though, is his visibility, the depth of his responsibility, and his symbolism to Apple itself." Then you began to discuss how visibility was going to change - and completely forgot to discuss the other two. Oops. Pretty much a big "no" in the grammatical world, causing an unbalanced and unfinished article. I was waiting to read about the other two points, and then it ended abruptly. No offense, but your writing chops would improve if you corrected this in the future!

Good to see that the Visionary is back - in any capacity. I understand that Apple does need to be able to survive without "the cult of personality" that Steve Jobs has EARNED, but I hope Apple or the Media isn't to hasty in kicking him to the curb just yet. The guy has proved that regardless of his technical contributions, his vision alone is capable of carrying the company.

I just hope whoever is in charge in the futures ensures the smooth flow of continuity and product unity - something Windows was never able to do with the majority if Market share.

I use to always wait for Keynotes by Steve Jobs !! I am sure I will kinda miss it. Apple had personality that showed off as Steve.

Good to see him back ;)

All I know is Apple SUX for denying the Commodore app! They let stupid useless apps like Baby Shaker and IFart through but deny Commodore. Ignorance is bliss!

Apple makes some good products, and we should hope they can continue making good products with or without Jobs' influence. Steve Jobs isn't going to be around forever.

Regardless of how Apple fares as a company, I still think we all need to continue to pray for Steve Jobs recovery. I pray for comfort for him and his family at this difficult time.

For sure we should pray for Steve Jobs and hope that he completely heals from his medical issues.

What I've noticed, though, is that people seem to think that Steve Jobs is the life of Apple and that if Steve Jobs were to leave permanently, Apple would fizzle out. I don't think that would be the case.

Eh, thanks for putting it factual sounding... i think? it's probably all mostly accurate i'm sure, but kind of a little dry and cold... warm it up a bit lol - and you think Apple doesn't sell charisma and personality? I say it's not the steak it's the sizzle...

Steve is almost certainly now on Prednisone, a glucorticoid steroid and an immunosuppressant. The drug has some pretty nasty side-effects, the most obvious of which will soon be visible: a puffy moon-face. It also wreaks havoc on the bones, causing osteoporosis. Add to that the effects of the other drugs, and you can't really call a transplant recipient a picture of "health".

It will be good to have Jobs more involved again, but it could be disastrous if they returned things to the way they were. Apple is on a roll with Jobs in a reduced roll, and that needs to continue, as well as slowly phasing Jobs out entirely. It will be a sad day when he is officially out of the company, but he has brought Apple back from near death to be one of the strongest companies, period, especially in a recession.

I believe that when he returns that apple will only increase. Because of the great leadership that Jobs put together, I only see apple improving with him. But like it said inthe article don't except to have fireworks to go off. in my opinon The company will contuine to grow and prosper with or without steve having a major roll. I do have to say that the new gadgets that apple came out are some what impressive. I guess apple has finally read the complaints that were posted in apple because they have answered their iPhone fans with some well need features that made the iPhone incomplete. So I do think the company won't fall because of the lose of Jobs
