Cameron, perhaps you publish an annual list with periodic updates. There are so many new things to look at and sort through to get to the useful gems. 2009 will bring many new tools to add to the collection, and some of the outdated web tools can be eliminated.

Thanks for this great list! I'd also like to suggest one more tool that could be added to the Ajax, Java & Javascript heading. The tool is called m-Power (http://www.mrc-productivity... and it generates Java web applications. It's designed for enterprise use, but would still be a good addition to this great list you've put together.
