Google has pulled into this debate rather suddenly and offered a solution that is mind-numbingly simple. The interface has very few buttons on it and works very intuitively. How many times has Grandma tried to search for something directly in the URL area, only to end up at a 404 site, or worse, some sort of virus finds it's way in. Though many power users are crying for add-ons, others are begging for a more simple and stream-lined interface.
Despite the heavy differences between Firefox and Google Chrome, it seems these two browsers are off to the races. Firefox has to prove that it can simplify itself for the novice, and Chrome must prove that it can add more under the hood to interest the computer geek. And it seems Internet Explorer is being left out to dry here, even though nearly every PC comes with Internet Explorer pre-installed. The age of the geek is here, and no software will survive without our endorsement.
Anyways waiting for chromes new outs and updates.
I like its simplicity. It is light and fast. Simply, it is just a browser!
but sometimes because of its simplicity, it feels that it is lacking something.
The extensions are just impossible for me to ignore. I use Chrome only for speed and some flash heavy websites. But sooner or later, Google will unleash the power of addons and the world will be fair again. I'm sure of it.
once chrome get's extensions i'll probably give it a more serious try.
I was a bit disappointed :( I thought the match-up was ripping 2 mogul web-browser applications?
but it turns out to be "just" a poll?
c'mon mashpeeps I know you can do better than that. please post something more than a poll thanks :D
Chrome on the other hand is super fast and doesnot interfear with my work software.
Chrome is good for Webapps, while Firefox extensions are best for dev use. Can't be compared until they have similar features.
i love the add-ons and features, FF is a much more faster adn reliable browser not to mention all the custom user goodies :D

Chrome is nice and fast, and the Sandbox is great. But FF has addons, that for home use really do sell it for me in the end!
chrome sucks. It's bland, lacks some serious features and it's nowhere near as powerful as Firefox.
there is no battle... within two years, Chrome will be the #2 (after IE) and Firefox will end its life like Netscape

we can see that chrome itself will develop into an OS that based on the browser. it's a good reason why chrome is more promising than firefox.
i saw the current results indicating more than half of votes went to firefox. i understand that. it's only because chrome is much younger.
and there certainly is some brand-loyalty issues in it

Sadly, I don't see Adblock Plus coming to Chrome anytime soon since Google was built on ad revenue and Adblock Plus stops that in its tracks.
FF is the sledge-hammer. I use that for administering websites, uploading to online storage (fireFTP & fire uploader), polishing code (firebug), etc. For me it is the Swiss Army knife, which can do a lot of things and gets you out of trouble when you need it...
At the same time you wouldn't use your Swiss army knife in the kitchen for preparing your daily meal.
Therefore, I use Chrome (dev channel) for speed and general user friendliness. No bloatware (extensions) to slow down performance or launching. Which for me is the perfect Chef's knife.... One purpose, dedicated tool!
this poll will mean more once we can.
I like both, and if they both had good extension support (eg. Firefox) it would be Chrome due to its speed and unique aesthetics.
But currently, Firefox is still on top thanks to the brilliance of extensions.

2. when you ctrl click a link it opens as the next tab to the right, not the last tab.
One thing both don't have (that IE does!) is ctrl+shift backspace to delete entire words. I miss that keyshort!
I pop Chrome open occasionally when something is just loading way too slow in FF, as the speed of Chrome is quite noticeably faster, but that is about it. If Google wants to be successful with Chrome they absolutely need to allow and build a library extensions and add-ons to increase customization and usability. Until then I just can't switch over.

Firefox gets my vote now... but if Chrome starts supporting Silverlight and get's add-ons... it would win
I'm easy to please, I suppose. :p
