This is brilliant. So simply executed.
  • Jesse Cannon · 7 months ago
Actually it isn't so brilliant it doesn't actually work!

Wow, that is a really great service. Hopefully it can be applied to other niches as well- books, movies, online retail, etc. I think 'We are Hunted' offers a great service that can be used on a large scale to target consumers and popular merchandise related to online searches- possibly even the online Billboard charts!

I don't need to find out what's the most popular music, I need to find music that matches my personal taste. This seems to be solving a problem that doesn't really exist, at least for those of us with 'eclectic' (or 'niche', 'non-mainstream', or 'weird'...) taste in music.

Yes, this is exactly my point! I wish I'd seen your comment before I posted mine.

Rats! I thought it would be a place where users would say things like, "I like Weezer, Pink, and xxx" so that if you also like Weezer or Pink, you could then listen to xxx to see if you liked them too. Does such a site exist?

Seems to me that good music is getting harder and harder to find!

This site doesn't actually work, there is an article here that shows you why it is a farce

As someone who manages bands and does online publicity for a living, this website doesn't even register on my radar.

Jennifer, I'd very much like to see your future posts examine the music sites that are great instead of just the new mediocre ones. Have you ever used the Hype Machine or Elbo.ws?

We are Hunted..weird name for a great service. it could favour indie artistes...then maybe not. All it cud take is some1 with a huge fan list to woo fans to say great stuff about their music and BAM!!!..there're on Top 99 every day. how does this work really?.. cos i still don't get it. i guess time will tell.

If you're looking for music events, you should check out http://www.playster.org - We currently index Upcoming, Last.fm and Meetup, and have a wealth of music events that you can search by keyword.

    Enjoy!
