How do people feel about the SAR on the phone? It's 1.49 head, 1.50 body when the legal limit is 1.6. Is anyone concerned by this and done research? I just bought the Droid and love it, but this does concern me....not just for this phone, but for the industry and a whole.

I respectfully disagree. Take a large piece of paper. Draw 12,000 dots. 12M is a heck of a lot. How many will the average Droider actually use? Most of Apple's are rarely used. Give me 20 good Droid ones and I am happy.

I have to read the entire article before I get to the disclosure that both Motorola and Verizon are Mashable sponsors. Sure be nice of you guys to put that information first so I don't waste my time reading an article that is bound to be biased.

One correction - "only 560 MB of the phone’s built-in memory is available " is not accurate - you can install applications to the 16 GB memory card, so it's not actually limited to 560 MB. I have one in my hand and can verify that.

Just ordered. With the online discount of $100 and my new-every-two discount that I just got yesterday, it was only $99. Still wish Apple would end exclusivity, but I'm tired of waiting. Looks like a solid smartphone choice which I've been holding out for.

Trying to choose between this, N900 and iPhone. iPhone's propably out since it has no proper keyboard and typing emails and texts is a pain.
N900 is still a mystery since I have only tried a pre-launch version which was full of bugs and missing functionalities that are suppose to be in the final version.
Is the droid only available through Verizon or can you get it unlocked?

Might be a killer on functions, but committing a (commercial) suicide on styling. It's ugly as.... No surprise t-mobile UK rejected it.

Hi Barb,

Yes, I plan on picking up Droid. Probably wait until a shoe-horn is not required for entry into my local Verizon Store. Imagine it will be crazy there for a week or so. Plus, provides more time to glance at a lot more reviews.

The Droid looks like a solid phone, and perhaps at long last some real competition for Apple. It won't make me give up my iPhone, but hopefully it will spur Apple to give us some long awaited refinements.

I think by the time the next version of this device is out, I'll be getting it. I need a better keyboard and if Android 3.0 is any improvement the way Andiod 2.0 was, it will be ready to take on the iPhone's user interface.

I have screen envy though, I must say!
