Getting them to fix it is as difficult as contacting eBay once your flagged (ignoring problems is certainly becoming a part of twitter) good luck working it out.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Who gives a flying frenchman about real time search. What complete bull shot. The fact that two companies who lose kaboodles of money each month are able to dominate headlines is a sad comment on the state of discourse in this industry (my own quasi vulgarities aside of course).

To the all who have never had to make a dime save the charity of venture capitalists, silly marketers, and just plain... , know this. When it comes to search, Google is all the matters. Microsoft gives a twatter about anything else. They make a lot of money, and money is what matters in this game.

Screw facebook, screw twitter, I have seen others come for more, and go for a lot less. They too will die. Google will battle Microsoft, and oh what a battle it will be.

The lines have been drawn, choose your sides, and nothing else really matters.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Twitter v. Facebook. ... The LA Galaxy v. Manchester Utd. ... The Detroit Lions v. a Division I football program ...

If you wanted to write the sequel to War and Peace, would you search the libraries of the US only or would you like access to libraries of the world (Russia, EU, etc.), museums, interviews, ... ?

Keep in mind, if you have more room to search, there is a lot more to sift through as well... luckily with the internet you can just click. My example could get pricey with airfares these days.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Google.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Myspace kicks them all to the curb dude!

RT
www.online-anonymity.net.tc

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Neither. Http://www.yauba.com and other third party sites will be the winners, since Yauba and their kind overcome the problem of having to go to both twitter AND facebook.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Twitter for the win! :)

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

I think it boils down to habit. I can only imagine how doing a search on Facebook and having to add a person as a friend to be able to talk to them. That would burn up the 5k friend limit in a hurry just trying to communicate. Facebook does have a wide reach and more barriers to entry hopefully adding to the usefulness of the content being searched, but the downside the slowing the process of "real-time" search. Give and takes on both sides.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

i thk facebook will tk it up.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Twitter is all the rage right now but I see it fading out very soon. I think people will begin to migrate to Facebook search as the opinion/content created by their friends is of value, however, I don't think Facebook or Twitter search will surpass Google/Bing--the data indexed there is just so much more and far-reaching.

With Twitter, I'd like to see them improve upon their search features. Third parties are starting to offer quality alternatives in addition to the standard Twitter search--look at Twazzup.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

Unfortunately for Twitter, though, Facebook has more to offer its users than just microblogging and real-time search.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

I think facebook will win in real time search because facebook users are more than twitter.

Re: Twitter vs. Facebook: Who Will Win in Real-time Search?

"The market's big enough for both of them"
What I have understood is that twitter is public blogging with followers whereas facebook is more private with friends.
