Love the idea, but still no search/trends feature on my home page. Not even text. What gives?? This still seems to be a work in progress, and although I agree that it's going to become standard for the web interface, I think we may have jumped a bit early to conclusions regarding when and how this was going to happen. Love that real-time info :) @TJustinMoore

Giving these tools to twitter users will make it easier to keep up with whats going on. There have been alot of times I would go to http://search.twitter.com to check for replies now can be done from your home page. :-D

Evan, me too. Still search is not working after being placed on my page four days ago. Having to old-school it over to search.twitter.com which is an inconvenience from just clicking on a link. Twitter has GOT to do better with interface rollouts than this!!!

Twitter Search certainly has huge potential which explains why twitter is tinkering with it. I have blogged about why I think its going to be the next big thing as a kind of conversational search service.

I do not see it as of 8:26 a.m. Eastern time. I am fairly new (12 days or so, and only about 100 followers), so perhaps it is being rolled out by some set of priority rankings.

While the new features are to be applauded in principle (what took THIS long?), the real question will be whether Twitter Search will continue to allow for full time range on back-searches. Currently, during (presumably) heavy day-time server loads, you may notice that search results only go back 7 days or so.

Is this a precursor to Twitter selling the deep data-mining to 3rd parties for a substantial fee? Will additional usage of search through the main interface make it necessary for Twitter to throttle the results permanently?

If so, the reason this would matter is that it would effectively make it hard for you to e.g. get your own data back out in a useful way, e.g. by searching over all your past tweets by keyword + "filter:link", making it in essence a personal bookmarking system.

And on keywords/topics of interest to you, you would need to pipe the search results continuously into a separate repository in case you wanted to archive them somehow for later availability.

Here in Bristol, UK, my @BusinessZone feed has been updated with the new functions and all seems to be working fine. My personal @Dan_Martin feed hasn't yet been updated though.

I'm one of those who mostly uses the Twitter web interface for searching tweets so the change is a very welcome development!

As much as I love it, I would prefer to see the search results page have the same navbar as the homepage (for consistency), and maybe keep the custom backgrounds that we all see on our homepages. It would make the search results page seem more like an extension of the homepage, rather than a completely different entity!
