I've noticed several interface changes over the past few months. Still prefer TweetDeck for most functions, but I do have TweetDeck go to my web browser when clicking on a profile. And I love that there's now one-click RT without having to go back to TweetDeck or hand-copy the username/post.

@Ohdoctah - I think Mager was a trackback posted on another site. I get them on my blog all the time.

@Steve Hall - I keep the inbound "you've got a follower" messages in Eudora, where they're easy to search.

Shel Horowitz, http://shelhorowitz.com

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

I would prefer to see the bio instead of the last tweet. For me the bio is more important than the last tweet and/or the location. At least in the previous implementation you could bring your mouse pointer above the link and see the full bio. Unless I am missing something now the only way to get to the bio is to actually “open” the link which is way more time consuming.

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

Double clicked caused duplicate...

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

I agree… For me the bio is more important than the last tweet and/or the location. It's not there. The useful hover/pop-up view of the user BIO is now GONE. Now a click-through is needed to see the BIO - which just adds more traffic and more server hits. What was Twitter thinking?

Seeing "last tweets" for people you already follow is OK. But pretty useless for new followers who I need to vett before following in return. That's where the BIO came in - now it's more of a hassle to decide whether you want to follow or not. FAIL.

M. I had already posted about the inability to easily see who follows back before I read your note. I like the old screen better! Would be nice if they would put a check-mark next to somebody's name if they follow you back. They do that on the page that shows who follows you - you get a check-mark on the folks that you follow back. Let's use that same idea to show who follows you back.

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

This change removed a feature that I found useful. Used to be when you looked at your "Who are you following" page, you saw a "Direct Message" button for those folks that followed you back. Now if you want to check for reciprocity, you know have to click a button on each user name. The page that shows "Who follows you" has a little check-mark if you are following them back. It would be nice to see this implemented on the "Who are you following" page, a check-mark if they are following you back.

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

However my followers count is still off from the actual number of tweeps following me. I used to be able to hover over the name to read their profile to decide if I want to follow back. Your article suggests you can view profiles without having to visit each users page. Any suggestions?

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

Yes this is more informative when browsing - although I am missing the bio of the person you used to get when you hovver over their name. From what I see you now have to actually click on the user, go into thier profile, read bio, then decide whether to follow or not. I prefer just to hover to get the info. Unless I am missing something?
Also WHEN is the search feature coming????!!!!

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

Fully agree. My tweet strike continues until the second of these issues is fixed. If Twitter takes too long about it, it's bye bye Twitter. No way am I supporting a social media network that gives the impression it's condoning spamming and pornography by not immediately removing all trace of such blocked accounts from the followers lists of GENUINE users.

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

The "improvements" aren't too bad except for two important facts: it is now impossible to see at a glance in the "following" list if someone you are following is following you also (mutual), in order to do this you now have to use the drop down to see if you can DM the person; and Twitter is not removing the people you blocked from your "followers" list previously during the recent time of troubles (about the past two weeks) when all things Twitter went wonky. I find both of these facts to be more than just minor irritants.

Re: Twitter Revamps Following and Followers Pages

I feel your pain.
