awesome guide, glad I didn't waste any money on a twitter book or something..lol
I'm glad this is up, it will be way easier to link clients to this page, vs saying the same thing over and over again.

Awesome post, I am so THANKFUL for the fact that stuff like this is coming out now. More and more people are clueless on how to use twitter, and rightfully so - they hear about people making a bunch of money on twitter, and follow the advice of the first person they hear talking about. Oftentimes this leaves them spamming and annoying people! Teaching everyone the basics of twitter, and how to use it for business, makes it easier for consultants like myself to provide greater value to our clients - and we can now spend less time helping clients "un-learn" their bad habits.

    Thanks for the blog post!

  • The Modern Courtesan · 4 months ago
is it really a "loss" if you lost spammers from your followers?
  • The Modern Courtesan · 4 months ago
nearly proved my own point there!

    This isn't a $9.99 e-book, right?

I love how Twitter releases a bombshell like this on the same night they destroy thousands of accounts - the Twitterverse won't know what to do with itself. HAPPY, SAD, sooooo freaked out....OH GOD #crisis

I am intent on being in it as a fashion designer outfitting Hollywood stars... hahahah
But honestly that is great... It is a revolution, cause we are all tweeting on our Blackberry...
The world is in our hand on tiny devices....
So THANK U to all the engineers who make it all possible today!

2 of the 3 twitter accounts I use have gone down: 348 to 298 and 48 to 35 The other one is unchanged for the moment at 151, but it is much newer and it may be just in the pipeline.

Sorry, reading two posts at the same time and the reply was intended for the other one. You can delete this two posts. Cheers.

Twitter doesn't usually need to write any guides or develop functionality as there is a whole industry of developers trying to write the next killer twitter app or next twitter guide for this or that.

Maybe they want to start to own the message rather than leave to everyone else.

Tourabout loves Twitter, it allows us as the #1 resource on Twitter for tours to connect easily to a lot of travellers who are trying to find local guides, destination activity suppliers and tour operators which is exactly what they've written in the guide.

So if your a traveller or a tour operator come and connect we'd be happy to help you get started.

It's about time they came out with something like this. Great guide to putting your business on Twitter and benefiting from it. By the way, if you are successful on Twitter I would say that you really need to tell Twitter about it. A case study would go a long way if you're featured.

Congrats to the Mashable folks for getting a link from Twitter on their page of resources. Should be a little bump for you in traffic. Was TechCrunch snubbed from the resource page? I thought it was sort of ironic myself. http://www.onebyonemedia.com/techcrunch-snubbed...

The Twitter 101 Guide is a very useful instrument for businesses.

The catch is that participating takes a good bit more effort than traditional one-way communication where you blast out a one-size fits all message to as many people as possible.

I really like the way Pepsi 'gets it'. Inspirational!

Hey at least Twitter is learning. Most small business owners do not try to use social media because they have no idea how to use it. Thanks to Twitter and Mashable they have some guidence.
