I wonder how many of these stories will become news... 'the dark side of Twitter'. :)

    Thanks for sharing,

    Karl.

Right now it's just novelty. When Facebook was up and coming there were stories about people breaking up with their significant other by changing their relationship status. Sure this will be news for a bit, but only until it becomes commonplace.

Jen, Call me, I am free, and I'll never tweet again as long as I have you!

    Complete non-story in story's clothing.

This could just as easily be blogging or Facebook updates, not Twitter use, with the same result.

    omg this is horrible.

Since neither of them have said a word about breaking up or why, where are all the stories
coming from. I think twittering is like anything, it can be used to excess and some of the
things would be better off not written. It makes a lot of people look stupid, not smart and
it is very public. I think it is very stupid for public news services to print gossip that isn't
just made up and they do it all the time.

There was a recent Harvard study about how Twitter caused the economic downturn. It's probably hyperbolic but there's a grain of truth.

Twitter has robbed me off many productive hours. I could be much richer by now since I'm an online entrepreneur. It has also affected my relationship and marriage as well when it got pretty bad. There is a dark side to Twitter.

There will be more stories to come, mark my words. Incremental dips will show in a fall many, many months from now.

Is that Harvard study published online? Would love to take a look at that.

    Interesting stuff.
Twitter proves that it is a pure social networking site with quite a serious and smart users :)

what is goingon on Twitter? It is the bad news of Twitter and he has to clarify everything.

It is not everyday that we see the other side of twitter, bad news. Although maybe this is actually good news as twitter is reaching such a large group. It will be interesting to see what kind of rumors will start with twitter.

Take away the name, what do these Tweets really say? Nothing. This is the problem that I'm starting to find with many of Twitter users: they have nothing to say.

A cartoonist's take on the whole thing: http://bit.ly/10LhGY

Inside Edition was all over the Twitter news yesterday. I check their website but cannot find the spot they did asking "are people addicted to Twitter?"

When you choose micro-blogging instead of a real life relationship, that's a problem.

Especially if that real life relationship includes Jennifer Aniston.

Celebs are definitely getting on Twitter in a big way. pdiddy (@iamdiddy) has regularly made the top 10 most replied to people on a daily basis (http://tweetstats.com/twitter_stats), as does John Mayer occasionally. Diddy has received over 45,000 replies in the first 20 days of March alone, which is kind of astounding.

Twitter is doing alot of damage these days. Its a wonder that people dont realize that its not real life.

Maybe he's trying to be very busy so he won't think of Jen that time. He was so over her since the day Jen split with him. hmm.. He's really a douche you know. I really don't like him.

    This article is freaking ridiculous.
