Maybe Twitter should use some of its $15-million in new cash to buy it along with Summize.

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

I love Twellow. It is a great tool. This is definitely something Twitter should have built themselves.

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

@rykos, the thing is that it searches people based on their bio. You can't do that with google--just search all of the twitter domain, i.e. all the tweets and bios, which is still very useful, but not the same.

...Anyway, I wonder what would happen if Twitter straight-up started to charge for use of their API? I bet they'd make a pretty penny, but wouldn't be able to last more than a year or two after that.

James
from
FaceySpacey.com - "The Startup Incubator"

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

We're going to be seeing a lot more functionality on Twitter itself once they get the platform stabilized. This app is necessary but not sufficient.

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

Good addition to Twitter tools. It seems one of the best ways to find interesting new people in Twitterland.

Remind me again why Twitter is not building this stuff in the tool it self?

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

perhaps the making money part of it? Wow. I am going to have to be more mature around my social networks. As a result of this new tool, I had to change my Twitter bio to be a little more serious. Include words like Entrepreneur and Woman. Twellow doesn't have a category for Internet Millionaire :) . Shame.

I have just been seeking the right people to follow and this will help immeasurably.. thanks!

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

good feedback ... they note that their site is "public pre-alpha" so I'm sure they are working on some of these things :-)

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

Impressive work. And really fast to get the result of a search query. But I do not have the full picture: (1) Disclaimer: I do not like directories in general (2) sounds like they scanned the content of the bio to decide in which category you are. OK. But what if I want to edit the category I'm belonging? (3) I am a bit disappointed there is no label/tag system.

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

Categories are a little subpar. Horrid yellow. Don't know if I would actually revisit the site or just straight out google the categories instead? Easy business to duplicate and beat (site redesign?).

Re: Twellow: The People Search That Twitter Should’ve Built

I can't make my mind up over Plurk. It's a great API and all, but search is such a big feature and Twitter is just handing the keys to others ...
