I would test it out, but I really hate to login to anyting :|

I would also test it out, but apparently the site can't handle the traffic being directed to it, so I keep getting a timeout error :-)

For some reason, Tweetmondo thinks it needs both my Twitter name and Twitter password to tell me who's nearby. And that's after I tried to opt out having Tweetmondo tweet that I was using it. Unacceptable. :-(

I just realized the auto-tweet thing, and added a warning. i'm not a fan of that typeo f stuff generally and will let them know.

Hey ben, this application is really very loosely. Firstly it takes so much time to load after several timeouts. Then they are asking you for your twitter username and password (un-necessary and no oauth authentication). Then it automatically updated my status to advertise ab their site without asking or informing me. Then their data doesn't seems to be very accurate. Now the ugly part, whenever I click on settings it prompt me to open/download their setting.php . Lastly & most importantly when you click on log-out it prompts to open/save the index.php (horrible I can't log-out). Man this application really sucks I have to clear all my sessions and cookies to get off to this app. why they have launched the app if it is still work in progress?

You should had checked all these, before writing this post. Its really very disappointing to see that sites like mashable written about this loosely app. Instead you should check out this new app GeoChirp (www.geochirp.com) a neat tool to see local tweeple's tweets, I got to know about from appscout - http://ow.ly/hUUU.

Very cool Twitter app but limited. When will we see a real global location/mapping Twitter application?
  • Charlie Levin · 4 months ago
If everyone or 80% plus of the population become Twitter Users, does the Map just become a blob of data with no use?
  • Alex · 4 months ago
No, the map only shows the most recent users.

IMHO: We are the Top Location based Twitter directory in terms of listings, features, and usability. We've never gotten a mention on Mashable for some reason?!! Hey Ben, how bout you throw us a frickin bone. JK! You and the Mashable crew keep up the great work...

I like the idea of real time capability, but it needs more advanced filtering, some people have thousands of Twitter users with many located in close proximity, the map will look all cluttered and be kind of pointless.. :)

Ben, can you update us, report an article, HOW SAFE is it give out Twitter password to all these, and any, Twitter apps websites? Not at all?

Are you somehow vouching, or underwriting, safety or integrity of a website when writing about it here?
    Thanks.

and one more thing - lets tell Twitter to get rid of 140 chars limit ... yes, keep displayed 140(header), but on a click, underneath, reveal the whole "tweet website".
