Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Top 5 Ways to Share Videos on Twitter

  • Scotty Menchak · 6 months ago
I found this article the day after I joined Twitter. It could have saved me 6 hours of time. I'm a pro photographer and just needed (I guess it's not so simple) a site that allowed me to share NEF raw Nikon photos for my new D300. None of them worked except for Twitc. I know this is unrelated to video but we pro photographers greatly outnumber videographers and I just wanted to share my happiness and agreement with your decision to include Twitc.

I'm not a professional photographer, but I love taking pictures and shoot mostly from my Nokia N95 or HP photosmart.
I would love to get a better camera but these two do everything I need in terms of posting stuff on the internet. I agree that Twitc worked so easy for me and very user friendly.

If we're going to subvert the 140-character limit with videos, why stop there? Why not share multi-Gb database backups on Twitter?
  • Vic · 6 months ago
There's also www.twitvid.com. I think it is better than twitvid.io
  • Senthil Nambi · 6 months ago
Thanks for including TwitLens in the article. Forgive the mess, we are still in Beta. But rest assured by the time we launch, the other "competitors" we'll provide the best video sharing solution on twitter.

    And again! You forget Mobypicture!
Mobypicture lets you share your audio, video and photos directly with your friends on all your social websites. It is by far the most complete platform for sharing your content to Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Wordpress, etc!
It works directly from you mobile phone, but also from the webupload, multiple desktop clients, email and MMS...

I've never used either of these before. After a test-run of Twitvid, I'm really (really) liking it! I could see myself using it for a couple of different reasons. As for the others, I think I'll give Tweetube a shot as well...

i used BubbleTweet to put my video on Twitter....http://bbltwt.com/qkm23. It only allows 30 seconds so it is cut of at the end but I like that you can still see the page. I can't wait until an app comes along that allows you to have a video stay on your site, without having to update your status with a link...thaks Ms. Van Grove..I will definitely check out these other hot ways to share vids on Twitter.

You totally forgot about bubbletweet.com or youtubetweeter.com. Both great sites from one guy that allow you to link to a video that plays over top of your Twitter profile. These should easily be in the top 5.

We all know they can each individually share something on Twitter.

BUT they can't share everything on Twitter like tweetjunction.com

A social community of twitter tweeters. You can upload photos, videos and music. Customize your profile. Write a blog, create a discussion in the community forum, add an event, comment, chat with and friend other members and VERY SOON tweet directly to twitter from this awesome website.

Want to know the really good part? It's 100% free and all content created on this site can be tweeted using their unique Tweet It! button. WOW not just video, not just pics, but tweet it all!!

I am amazed with this site and SHOCKED it has not been mentioned by a few larger websites who are in love with Twitter!

I was reading the other day, their 600 members had sent a total of over 60,000 invites for their friends, family,co-workers and business contacts to join this site, all in less then 2 weeks.

If your not a already a members of this site.....DANG what are you waiting for????

do any of these sites allow you to play the video directly in facebook when linked? Or even show a still frame along with the link? I need a way to track video plays within facebook and am thinking that a twitter link would work because most of these sites show the number of views. I just don't want to have a link on facebook though so an image, or the ability to play directly in facebook would add interest.

I'm obviously biased, as I work at Cisco, but I think every PR pro should have a Flip (or, ahem, Flip-like) video camera for PR and social media...including media training, vlogging, etc. And, yes, for bubbletweet or these other twitter video services.
