I didn't even vote, but the top 3 are in fact the first three on my home screen, haha...

    Kinda surprised by Kindle.
  • Ryan Lalonde · 1 month ago
Yeah I'm definitely going to have to agree with this list. Without the multiple Twitter apps of course.
  • katrinamc · 1 month ago
Yes, I would be interested in knowing what were the next 3 non-Twitter apps

The fact that iPity isn't on this list means this is clearly a botched election.

Surprise? TweetDeck. Why is that up there? That thing crashes more than a drunk 16 year old at a party.
  • Dylan Blanchard · 1 month ago
weird, I haven't had it crash on me at all.
The desktop client will go wonky on me every once in a while, but never the iphone app (except for landscape view).

I have most of those apps. Definitely use them all a lot on my Iphone.

Gist is a contact aggregation app that is really sweet, but it's new, so I didn't expect to see it on your list.. Mediafly is another excellent aggregating app, but for media.

Maybe both these apps will get some love in your next poll.

My favorite would have to be Tweetie 2. Great little app. I am surprised that the Wordpress application for the iPhone isn't listed. This makes blogging so much easier. I wrote up a blog post about it here - http://www.affiliateblogonline.com/2009/10/13/b...

I think it's a bit of a con having 4 Twitter apps in the top 10. I may well have 4 on mine, simply because I was testing them, I'd only put my favourite (Tweetie 2) in a top 10 list.

Anyway, I like the small games more. Doodle Jump, Blocked, Paper Toss, Geared, iShoot, Bejeweled, Low Grav... they can occupy me for 10 minutes or take up hours of my time, that's what makes a good app for me. Simple but fun.

A rather dull and uninspiring list to be honest.

    Dropbox...Ping!...Gist...even Postman...use your imagination, people!

I'd like to see a top 20 list. Flashlight and mSecure would be on it I'm sure.
  • tonyfaustino · 1 month ago
Surprised none of the major news apps made the list (i.e., WSJ, Bloomberg, NPR News, NYTimes). I use those apps frequently to understand any implications for my professional work.
  • dietsociety · 1 month ago
I'd like to see the next two or three. It's not that surprising that Facebook is #1.

I recommend a great course I took, it's a great course to learn how to develop apps for the iPhone you can either take the long and boring (free) Stanford course or just start to develop within couple of weeks http://www.edumobile.org/215.html
lots of tutorials, support, exercises, help in publishing in the app store...
you don't even need a mac, they give you a remote connection so you can check it out...

    My personally like Tweetie best.
  • paulinelaila · 1 month ago
I've used tweetdeck and twitterific, and the latter wins flat out. tweetdeck is so buggy it always just crash and i've got so upset when it died while i was typing one time. Why is it even in the list! Oh well, i'm bad luck with technology :( google sniper review
