We have removed the $.99 transaction fee. It now costs 5% to sell something via your ToldYa store. We also added a few more 'item types' these include Services and Events. So if you don't have the cash to pay that handyman you find on Craigslist, you can ask him to create a ToldYa eStore and pay him with your credit card. If you are a promoter and you want your guests to pay by credit card you can do that too!

We are getting huge thanks to our fans on Mashable! Keep the feedback coming.

MB

Re: ToldYa’s Social Media Storefronts: Sell on Facebook, MySpace and More

Hi Samantha,

I think if you compare the shop it service to ToldYa you will see some fundamental differences. For starters the ToldYa eStore allows the buyer to stay 'in' the estore without having to leave the page they are on. This means that the entire transaction occurs instantly without needing an account with ToldYa or on paypal. Consumers can actually let other consumers use their credit cards.

Also, ToldYa stands in the middle of the sale which means that the buyers money is only sent to the seller when the buyer actually receives their product. We do this as part of a special integration with UPS that allows to know the moment that the package is signed for.

Also, the ToldYa promotional tools are second to none. With just a few clicks you can blast your store's 'grand opening' to your friends via email, or post the store to your facebook wall. We too have a Facebook app which makes using a toldya store on facebook that much easier.

Finally, our rates are extremely fair at .99 per item sold. Cash or charge let your buyer decide.

I happen to think shop it and toldya are going after subtly different audiences, and the good news is that with over a billion social networking profiles there is room for many companies in this space.

Re: ToldYa’s Social Media Storefronts: Sell on Facebook, MySpace and More

I have to agree, this isn't the first of its kind, if you ask me Shopit has been around earlier and has established Apps on the major social networks like Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Hi5, Ning, and AIM. If you read the blog they have you'll see they are constantly making updates

Re: ToldYa’s Social Media Storefronts: Sell on Facebook, MySpace and More

Correct me if I'm wrong but Cartfly requires you to leave the widget/store to purchase the product which is a much different animal. The Toldya store seems to allow you to use it as your entire site including checkout and delivery.

Re: ToldYa’s Social Media Storefronts: Sell on Facebook, MySpace and More

Damn, this site is really cool. It's very hard to drive traffic to a website store - but here you bring the store to the traffic. Could this replace small to mid sized webstores? It sure would save much effort and money.

Re: ToldYa’s Social Media Storefronts: Sell on Facebook, MySpace and More

Correct me if I'm wrong but with the ability to check out in the store, why would you even need a website destination? Thanks also for the suggestion to offer a smaller fee on lower cost items. We will certainly consider that. I wanted to mention that ToldYa also allows users to pay for items in cash and to accept credit cards between friends without the need for a paypal account or merchant account of any kind. ToldYa acts on behalf of both buyer and seller, and makes sure that everyone is happy with the transaction. We are thrilled to have been written up in mashable because we know how important this audience is. Please keep the feedback coming and your suggestions. Lastly, we are hiring so if you are interested in a new gig and you are in Los Angeles, have a look here - http://losangeles.craigslis...

Re: ToldYa’s Social Media Storefronts: Sell on Facebook, MySpace and More

Social media + online selling?
