Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Tiger Woods’ Jesus Walk Not a Glitch

  • monchster · 1 year ago
That is just an awesome ad put together by EA. I love that there is no talking, or dialog. Everything left to the imagination...lol. That's great.
  • EA Screwed Up! · 1 year ago
Some people find it so F$#%$# hard to admit that it was a glitch and they were wrong! And you all are just dumb struck buying EA eye candy sahme one ya all!
  • Jias · 1 year ago
Or... they are admitting that there was a glitch and are laughing it off. I really don't think that EA expects us to believe that Woods can actually walk on water. Not admitting it would be ignoring it; however, I feel that they are addressing this quite well.

    Something to learn here!

Spot on. Excellent response by EA. This is how you can be blatently opportunist as a business, engage directly with the consumer, and gain instant respect of the community. The video will be passed around the web in no time
  • Independent · 1 year ago
Someone is going to be offended! And that's probably why I'm still laughing so hard.

Now to play my little part and see who else laughs... /submit /submit /submit

Looooove the attention to detail: he takes of his shoes, dips the club before shooting... simply excellent!!!
  • J · 1 year ago
This is the best form of user generated marketing I have ever seen. Bravo to the concept team! Simply genious...
  • bastian · 1 year ago
    Ill make it short:
That shot was perfectly executed ;)
  • Michael · 1 year ago
Unfortunately, when he dipped his club in the water he violated rule 13-4 against grounding your club in a hazard and incurred a two-stroke penalty.

    Other than that. Brilliant.
  • Iris · 1 year ago
    HAHAHAHAH.... that was to funny!
  • Doug Schumacher · 1 year ago
Outside of the brilliantly executed Tiger footage, I love the blatant acknowledgment of their customer, Levinator25. Giving props to the guy who got the ball rolling, as it were. Having a conversation with him on the biggest video stage in the world.

Didn't hurt that he opens with 'the new Tiger Woods 08, best game ever'.

Lets take Video games, the biggest name in sports, mash it with YouTube, WOMM, viral marketing, and sprinkle the ability to not take one's self to seriously and you have magic. Whoever thought of this, keep them and give them a raise.
  • tolga · 1 year ago
    Brilliant!
dont mean to get into semantics but this is more of the same old good viral marketing that brands still trying to comprehend. it was not generated by the user, but the brand itself in response to the user generated content. id call it viral PR.
    still brilliant tho!
  • Ling · 1 year ago
I think maybe either Obama or McCain needs to steal some people from EA's rapid response team.
  • Dave · 1 year ago
Not a single comment wondering if the original video was a plant by EA's marketers?

    Really?

    Really?

I think we're ready to buy whatever you want again, marketers. Better get pet rocks back on the shelf before we wise up.
  • scott · 1 year ago
I think that Tiger needs to stop making commercials and get back to rehabbing that knee of his! ;)
  • Violent Sleep · 1 year ago
    Sheer brilliance. Well done EA!

yeah go EA, now if only they could fix the retarded safty feature on mass effect
  • q · 1 year ago
    Hi,
I think they are being awesome about the glitch... but I think they should fix it.
honestly I am going to buy 1 more game from EA and than I am not getting ANYTHING from them again.
every game I have gotten from them has glitched up and given me crap.
I am looking forward to spore too much to not buy it. but I am not going to put up with EA anymore. there customer support actually (and I know this from experience) can't help you if your problem isn't that your computer doesn't fit minimum requirements, infact if that is not your problem, they apperently are COMPLETELY PERPLEXED.
this is the only time I have seen them handle a problem well. and I hope they see this comment and maybe think about trying to make good games.
let's hope they don't publish the conduit for the wii, they would completely blow that to shit.
  • Chinny123 · 1 year ago
    lol cool.

The closing caption should have been

"Its Not a Glitch. EA Sports, If its in the Game, Its in the game!"

    :D

  • DanielW · 1 year ago
I hate EA, but I'll have to admit this was pretty damn clever.
  • Namagem · 1 year ago
Just want to note that the EA video recently topped one million views.

I have to say, bravo, EA, Bravo.
  • Stratcat X · 1 year ago
I hope he was charged the requisite two stroke penalty for grounding his club and "testing the condition" of the hazard. Walking on water or not,Tiger shouldn't cheat!
  • ss · 1 year ago
    Plexiglas people, come on..
  • Ryan G · 1 year ago
Good on Tiger for agreeing to do this.
  • Phlaike · 1 year ago
No law suit from either side? Now that doesn't sound very American to me. I thought you guys sued everybody.
  • Scott · 1 year ago
Love the little reference to the end of 'Being There'. :-)
  • Adrian Rodriguez · 12 months ago
    lol. That is awesome!

I can walk on water. I can also beat you in golf Mr. EA "Screwed Up!".
