  • Maura · 6 months ago
Thanks for the resource. Looking forward to checking it out. I tried logging in with the code you provided and it says it's invalid. Any ideas or have you reached 50 already?

Looks like beta key doesn't work, or all 250 disappeared already. Pete, you've got some voracious followers on Twitter.

Mashable has sent a lot of people our way the keys were gone within minutes. We're now adding a hunded keys every few minutes, as long as our servers can handle it. We didn't expect this would happen! The code "MASHABLE" works once more.
  • raj · 6 months ago
Either they're gone or the damn "beta key" field is coded poorly. Can't register
  • Diederik · 6 months ago
The keys were gone within minutes. We fixed the sign up page, now it will let you know if the keys are gone. We've added a few hundred new keys, so you should be able to register now. Enjoy Thymer!

This would be really easy to keep open during a meeting, enter tasks as they come up, and leave the meeting with a populated, distributed to-do list. No need for drop down or hover or other ways of selecting and assigning. Shoot, I could even make make the tasks in a simple text file and drop them in the box later. Wish they'd allow assigning a task to multiple team members.
  • Diederik · 6 months ago
Thanks for giving Thymer a try! We use Thymer like that too. You can cut&paste lists of tasks from anywhere and just drop them in. As for your wish: we thought about allowing multiple team members to a task, but then nobody would be -really- responsible. We find that splitting a task up in sub-tasks works really well, because then people then have to take full ownership of what's assigned to them. Having a single owner per task may seems limiting, but we find it works well in practice.

  • Arturas · 6 months ago
Indeed there are a lot great tools, but still it all depends on the user needs, Thymer is focused on simplicity and doing just the minimum, while for example we in http://www.comindwork.com are trying to build an all in one project management tool, woth Gantt charts, custom workflows etc.

Thymer beta key worked for me. Testing it out now. Thanks!

So far, Thymer looks like a rip-off of Manymoon. I'll dig more to see if it works for me. Presently, I've been messing around with Toodledo. It's slightly better than RTM (Remember the Milk) and Manymoon...but only slightly.

The functionality of parsing tags, such as @tomorrow @2:50 @tuesday is very cool.

"Thymer, currently in private beta, chucks the complicated project management features and keeps just the essentials so you can add tasks, track time, and collaborate with team members with little to no time wasted on the project management front."

So what you are saying is, Thymer is another Basecamp clone...

At times project management is such a complication and delays my work. It's so frustrating. This one page layout simplification by thymer seems to be interesting. I think i will try this.

Bitbucket a great project hosting alternative, 1 private repo in the free account, 150 MB, issue tracker and WIKI. Works with Mercurial.
