An argument could be made that Mogulus is better for 24 hour streaming, but for event based things (like Townhalls, for instance), UStream is a much better choice, as the broadcast platform is geared better towards that.

Re: Twitter Townhall?

Great idea, but Mogulus is a far superior livestreaming platform. From a PR consultant's standpoint, Twitter will look good, but will have to demonstrate that it "hears" the townhall's advice.

Re: Twitter Townhall?

Yes, Twitter townhall is a great idea. I love Twitter. It's simplicity is amazing. I am aware about the limitations of the technology and other issues. But recently, very often, i ask, 'Twitter, what are you doing?'

Re: Twitter Townhall?

*clearly that was 'uphold'. apologies.

Re: Twitter Townhall?

i love twitter, but starting to side with those who regularly question the amount of twitter 'news' items. Issues of twitter PR/stability/unwillingness to upload their own ToS/Scoble's love of Friendfeed etc. should be conversations that are holding place on twitter itself. Maybe I'm wrong, but i'm on there because i thought that was the point?

Re: Twitter Townhall?

I love twitter. I think this is their year.

A townhall would be great way to keep the community loyal.

Re: Twitter Townhall?

I think that a Twitter TownHall Meeting is a great idea! Hook it up!

Re: Twitter Townhall?

Great idea Mark. I've enjoyed watching the Digg townhalls. I obviously knew Kevin Rose, but getting to listen to Jay Adelson more has been great.

I vote for a Twitter Townhall!

Re: Twitter Townhall?

maybe you should just take a vacation

Re: Twitter Townhall?

Can you offer the townhall to LiveJournal? I would love to 'filter' the messages I request via API or check for messages with id > X. Twitter could also page the results set so the service requesting can iterate through the messages.

Archiving old messages to a system where folks don't expect the speed of the current production environment would be useful as well and, perhaps, limit the burden of the number of tweets to weed through.

I'm sure they're just trying to patch and keep the system above water, but it's time they think as big as they are and begin architecting the system that way.
