I am glad I was one of millions that are now Times Person of the year, it is nice to see that a nobody can be heard, for that I am grateful.

This is old stuff. TIME is finally catching on something that some obscure site has already been doing for past 5 years. Sajha.com has been awarding person of the year to the person logged into the site. Check http://www.sajha.com/sajha/...

So a couple of kids make a few websites, and now everything is "2.0" and "social", drawing the attention of millions (or billions) of people. That's how I sum up web 2.0 ;-)

they are picking up on a theme of the year. In 20 years it may look silly or overblown, but they are catching lightning in a bottle and recognizing the rise of this new communication and lifestyle. It seems gimmicky as if old media is merely trying to levereage new media for some shred of relevance. If they really dig into many facets then this could be very interesting ( maybe delve into the international scope of it or some non myspace stuff)

Business 2.0 magazine had a similar issue a few months ago with the title "20 Most important People on the web". Bill Gates was on the 15th spot, Larry/Sergey were on 2nd. And, you guessed it, "you" were on the first.

Maybe Time Magazine took up on their idea.

New media is certainly changing the landscape for the average joe or joette. I'm glad Time recognized the everyday new media player. It's the future, indeed.
