It's where the Internet begins. Literally every meme gets passed around there before it makes it to 4chan, youtube or digg.
You can always find me on Dalnet or EFNet

Re: Still Talk Via IRC? I would say most veterans still use their old setup - in my case that is basically a decade old setup of MIRC and it is about new users entering the fold.

The beauty and the features of IRC are still unmatched in nearly all IM apps while some advancements have been made to make it more shiny.

Twitter has added the mobile functionality - for all the people never bothering to setup their irc or jabber clients on the phone, but basically the reason why many return is because the rest is still so much in it's infancy.

It is a pity though that all of the apps do not mix both worlds - but then again, it is probably about loosing control when you have your users run on an irc client/ server, they might actually go away from you.

Re: Still Talk Via IRC? Or use IRC as a news channel that all your websites feed from.

Re: Still Talk Via IRC? Used to be my primary means of communicating on the Internet. Cool to see mibbit is giving it a fresh look. Might have to start again =) Any IRC veterans know of any popular tech channels??

Re: Still Talk Via IRC?
