Mashable - The Social Media Guide: 2007/08/09/online-business/

  • Honeycut · 2 years ago
Mashable toolbox articles easily top my list of best web resources. Thanks so much for these lists. Brilliant!
  • Marc · 1 year ago
Agreed! However, there are so many tools here, it may be difficult to choose the right one. I think it could be beneficial to narrow it down to the top 50 best/most useful ones. Speaking of tools, you can follow me @Garbarrassing on Twitter. Gonna work on narrowing this list down and posting it on Twitter. Later.

Why not have details of web site management , website tools, website testing tools (some of them are on my site)
  • Pete · 2 years ago
Yeah, cos what this article really needs is to be *even longer*. ;)
  • Henri @ B2B Sales Blog · 2 years ago
Amazing list! When I saw the title at first I thought the 230 was just to grab attention, but it really is that long. Thanks for compiling it. Now let me start spending a few hours to visit all the websites ;-)
  • Murtaza · 2 years ago
Thanks so much from Lahore Pakistan. THX
  • Vladimir · 2 years ago
I wonder why Mashable didn't put a comprehensive list of shopping cart solutions here?
  • Rick Reich · 2 years ago
Pete, Brilliant list. This blog is imperative for any entrepreneur - timely and informative!
  • abraham · 2 years ago
I think a separate section for this Toolbox stuff would make sense.

Useful, but not really social networking news.
  • J.T Dabbagian · 2 years ago
    Hey, what about SideJobTrack?

    www.sidejobtrack.com
  • valerie · 2 years ago
    Did you list shopify.com?
  • Gianni D · 2 years ago
When I was freelancing, BillingOrhard was a great tool. Interestingly enough it was around way before the web 2.0 blitz.

On second thought, team up with lifehacker to publish the "best of" stuff". You all run sooo many articles, it is overwhelming. These "best of" stints crowd the goods. You all are starting to have "the quickest draw in the west" with actual breaking news....and you have not even begun to get connected in the industry.

As far as author-specific, contemplatively considered analysis posts:

    1) The folks that post articles only sporadically. They see, the most well-thought-out

    2) Then, Pete himself, he usually adds some insight even though he doesn't address the majority of comments like he should with a commuity-oriented blog owner should.
  • greendrake · 2 years ago
    3) Finally, Nicole, without any "inside connections", she manages to throw out an amazing number of posts per day, even rivaling the "insider scoopers".That kind of speed doesn't allow for contemplation, but it sure caters to purveyors of breaking news. Nicole, please take the time (fund it pete!) to go and meet with folks at promising startups and VC funds around the world. (Maybe even a streamcast, if you can find the right technology for every country you visit)

There has to be some discussion here other than trackbacks?
  • Pete · 2 years ago
Noted. Yeah, I'm getting trackbacks split off from comments very soon.
  • greendrake · 2 years ago
Oops, only the second part got posted. i can't write taht over
  • greendrake · 2 years ago
Haha, lucky for you I'm drunk and I know it, so I saved it:

Thanks, this is a fantastic list. If you've used some of these tools for your business or are a product manager for one of these tools, and want to share detailed tips with the rest of us, we'd love it if you could write a how-to guide for business at Work.com.

    Cheers,

    Shara Karasic

One you could add to the Phone and Voicemail section that I have had pretty good luck with it youmail.com They basically allow you to have different voicemail answers for different numbers that call you and you can hear your voicemail on the website.
  • Vinod · 2 years ago
Having a List like this is very useful. But definitely not suited in the form of a blog post. At least a tabbed interface to categorize the contents , would have been apt.
Me not picking the nit on this nice list ;)
  • Scott Carpenter · 2 years ago
Thank you for listing Invoiceplace Cameron!

Our company offers short term and long term rentals of audio visual equipments throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, these tools would surely help us in expanding the business without leaving out small details on the job. Tools such as propertize and baracuda suite may be able to help in the organization of the business.
Thank you for the list.Hope to hear more from you.

Uploading your files to more then one place is always a good idea.

This not only makes sure that people gets the file but also gives an option to people to use their favorite file hosting provider to download.

Upload Mirrors allows you to upload files to multiple hosting providers in one click.

(RapidShare, MegaUpload, EasyShare, DepositFiles, ZShare, FlyUpload, SendSpace, Badongo, NetLoad, MegaShare, ZippyShare and UploadedTo )

and then provides you one link which contains links to all these sharing service.

This makes it easy for anybody to distribute ebooks, movies, mp3 files or Dj Mixes to share with his friends.

keep your files online! No more broken links!

    Hi Guys,

We've just launched a new application for web hosts and ISPs called www.cannybill.com.

Not only will it handle all your invoicing and billing but it will also let you sell web hosting accounts which automatically get created on your server, domain names and even SSLs.

    Kind Regards,

    Wladimir
