The creator clearly did not do his research. The government is cracking down on websites that provide amateur erotic content and a new law was passed a few years ago requiring all adult websites to keep two forms of ID for each person that portray erotic content. There has been numerous FBI raids lately because of this new law (not to mention there is an even stricter bill that will be passed sometime in the next year.
Basically, if your websites providers amateur erotic content without the proper documents from EACH person, get ready to go to jail.
There's no need for a porn version of Second Life - there's already more cybersex than you can, er, shake your stick at ...

Hi, I am a Volunteer over at Utherverse/Red Light Center (my views do not represent the views or concerns of Utherverse or Red Light Center). I have been with Utherverse longer than any other online community, and I was saddened to read some of these posted comments. I am currently in the California Army National Guard, Full Time Worker, College Student and volunteer for RLC. Utherverse is a responcible Adult online community where rules and regulations are kept well above the par. For someone to hope that the FBI raids and closes this site down was more than unnecessary and crude (I for one would never wish harm uppon you even if your views did not match those of my own). Utherverse is something I believe in so heavily that with what ever time I have left in my busy schedule I devote and give that time not just to them, but to us. Utherverse is a family and not just random users from around the world misusing the internets resources. This site is something I believe in and will stand up for.

I also, have been a member of RLC/Utherverse for quite a while. Unfortunately I cannot give it rave reviews because it seems the ppl that run it do not care about improving it. The prgm has been recycling the same old glitches that I encountered when I first registered there. They make a patch for the current glitches, and previous glitches show up again. They seem to just recycle patches and glitches. They have a forum wherre ppl can feedback concerns but if the ppl are persistent about voicing their concerns, there are a few in dividuals there who berate them and make excuses for RLC/Utherverse's incompetence at keeping the prgm running smoothly. Yet these people charge at least twice ($20US/month)what other virtual worlds cost. My advice is to save your money and try Second Life, IMVU, etc.

I hope to dispel some of these "rumors" regarding Utherverse. I am not affiliated with this company other then a member there. I do know what steps one goes through to become a member and the age verification that you must provide in order to become a member. As the laws/statues now do read I doubt seriously that RCL/Utherverse is going against any of them as they indeed require more verification then any of their competitors as in chat sites or liken sites. The truth is that Second Life has now come under fire for allowing minors onto it's site and those abilities to access "rape rooms, drugs and online predators". I am perfectly comfortable in saying I have not seen such things in RCL/Utherverse and doubt seriously if they should ever include those accesses as their competitor Second Life has and does to minors.
RLC/Utherverse was set up as an "ADULT COMMUNITY" they have never adverse other wise. I doubt seriously if Second Life can say the same thing. No doubt the cost of the memberships of RLC/Utherverse detours minors with the inability to access the site as well.
As far as the problems with RLC/Utherverse I have been through the recent changes from the old version to the new beta version. With any changes in any adult chatsite or commune those bugs have to be worked out and fixed and that of course does take time.
As an "Consenting Adult", I choose to spend my online time with RLC/Utherverse, in an adult commune, till they prove differently. I do not wish to spend my online time however limited that is in dealing with minors.

The idea of creating sex-based social network isn't new, but it was realized perfectly! I enjoyed the idea of identifying a person by credit card data. I think the internet long ago had to be divided into adult and children's.
As an Utherverse member, I would like to say that I relish the idea of a social network that does not subject me to dealing with children or teenagers. It is wonderful to deal only with consenting adults. Those who come into the Utherverse know what to expect and what not to expect. I know that one has to jump through all kinds of legal hoops to engage in sex-related commerce of any type there. The upgraded client is being improved daily,and it s now a smooth and seamless experience. New features are added all the time. The artwork and the avatars are beautiful...IMVU can't compete with those. And finally, once the novelty of the sex wears off, most people stay there for the friendships and social interactions they find there. And the bonus is...you only have to deal with actual adults!! No kids! w00t!! Can't say enough about my positive Utherverse experience!!

lmao If you dear people think that some 12 yr old can't "borrow" his Mum's credit card for a few minutes and register at RSC/RLC, then you are a bit naive. I've encountered people at Utherverse that do have the maturity of preteens. About 2nd Life, it was built for ANYONE to be able to enjoy. So they have problems keeping kids from accessing the "mature" areas. They have probably done what they could and rely on PARENTS to keep track of what their kids are doing. Gawd, people are careless about their kids these days. Anyway, there are parental filters and histories and things in PC operating systems for parents to make sure their kids are behaving as far as the internet is concerned. Some people are just too lazy to check their kids activities. As far as artwork and avatars quality goes, RLC can't even reach SL's shadow let alone catch up. Sl has lag problems; in spite of Brian's bragging about no more boots with the new RLC people are still being booted. Basics can't PM anyone in RLC, but they can in SL and indeed, evn choose a half dozen friends in your friends list and conference chat. What can a basic do in RLC? Stuck in general chat. And SL is free, RLC costs $20/month. IMO, it isn't worth $2/month. It's a largescale joke being played on the gullible who actually PAY for it. lmao. The only good thing about Utherverse I've seen is some of the people are awesome. But then, some of the people in SL are awesome, too.

Oh goodness CaptNemo you certainly don't have a membership at both because what you are stating is so untrue. SL avi's are cartoonish at best where the 3D avi's on RLC as well as the overall graphics are very well done and much more appealing to adults.
Free? I would rather pay my $20/mth and be amongst adults on a site that adverses it is such a site and am very comfortable with the fact that all "cyber" laws have been followed. Given the fire that SL is and has been under for allowing minors into "adult" sex areas well it just goes to show you the mentality of the poster.

I did and RLC rated a 3 at best, where SL rated a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 from worst to best. As far as the accusations of SL being under fire for "allowing" underage users goes, get serious, child. They have age verification. They are probably are more careful than Utherverse. All you need at Utherverse is a credit card. I was a member of RLC, i left and went to SL. I have to say i enjoy SL a lot more, their is more customization in SL then in RLC. RLC to me was a big advertisement and sex store, it needs to be more like a game, and they also need to update their modles for people and add better customization tools. As it is i found myself looking almost exactly like everyone else. I want to stand out more and i can not on RLC. SL on the other hand is different, i can customize myself greatly, i wanted an avatar with really large breasts, in RLC i was unable to do that, the female bodys there look more like young boyish avatars. RLC could learn a thing or two from SL.
