(ps - Pete, I believe you can come up with a better/simpler system for voting than this, although I understand why you have chosen this method)
I tested the various voting plugins on a test blog, and I wasn't happy with them. Plus, I found them very easy to game.
Another thing: they cause major database issues when you have a high traffic site. You'll remember that Mashable added the ability to vote on posts a while back. That resulted in too many database queries and even took the site down a few times, so we pulled it. In short: comments are the easiest, most reliable route.
(For polls, maybe try PollDaddy or ZohoPolls or something...)
PollDaddy and other third party services were already tested and ruled out. Keep voting!

Best sports site for real fans. The biggest stories are here in written form and in podcasts, and the columnists are real fans like its members. I can actually intereact with the sports writters. Fan driven content makes this a Great Site! Not just another ESPN.
They have the best method for defining relationships with people you know and then sharing content with them. Their privacy controls are more robust than any other set I have seen.
i've pretty much turned my back on the others since i became a member of multiply in 2004. the interface is great. the community is awesome. and i've made several meaningful friendships in Multiply.
Hooray for having a useful purpose beyond friending.

And we are used to give a reason about wanting to add someone on friends list which seems it's not a trophy like other networks were you just have to shot add add add.
People seem to be more interested in the real comunication.

informal social networking is easy...
the professional social networking sites that instill confidence and security are rare. linked in has enough of both to get everyone from the CIO down to the intern where i work to sign up. linked in shows that professional networking can be done.
It's super user-friendly & super secure! I've reconnectec with old friends & have made many new ones! And I have no worries that others will manipulate my site, or my contacts! Great networking phenomenon!! :-D
Meaningful and relevant friendships with people that ha the same interests. Great place to share video, photos, and blogs. You define the relationships and how much you want to share or keep close.
I have tried MySpace, Friendster, Bebo and Hi5 and found multiply to be the best. It's got the bet features including the best way to notify you of changes to your friends' pages, and more sharing options than any other site. The only personal disadvantage to me is that most of my friends are on the other sites, but I love multiply so much that I just keep continuing on working to convert my friends!

Honestly, how can anyone prefer any other site once they've been on TW? multiple pages, your own layout/design, an intellectual crowd that is not trying to sell you stuff or sell their bodies. I don't see how there's a comparisson.

I'm over 40 and am not interested in making new pseudo-friends. I like being able to connect with the REAL friends that I already have.
I researched a lot of sites (and I'm still a member on several) before picking Multiply as my home. It's hands-down the easiest, most natural way I've found for keeping in touch with people you don't see regularly.

i've tried orkut, myspace, linkedin, xanga, epinions, and youtube and while i have to admit youtube rocks, it's only got the video thing going for it. multiply has video, music, photos (and photo printing), blogging, reviews and groups all in one easy to use package.
the layout is intuitive. the site is customizable so you can give your site your own look and feel. and best of all, it's a great place for conversation. unlike some networking groups that are populated with either trolls or ditz's, multiply's very format enables you to control what kind of interaction you have with people. not only do the privacy settings give you a lot of control over who sees your stuff, but having most of the action happen through personal sites rather than through group settings mean you get a lot more cross pollinization of thoughts and ideas. (...rather than being in a group of people who all already agree with everything you have to say. although there are groups on multiply so when that's what you want to do, you can.)
multiply also has some great functionality that i haven't seen on any of the other networking sites. live replies rock. you can have conversations in real time. and the explore page is what hooked me on multiply in the first place. you always know exactly what's happening in your network thanks to this handy page. it's like RSS on steroids.

But if 43things.com was a choice it would get my vote again and again and again. I think it has a bigger base than Vox, and is more vibrant, since Vox has been invitation only, that limits things a bit.

Somewhere or another, I have a long list of advantages of TagWorld, but as someone else said, easy customization, lots of features, multi-pages, and a good bit of music (The Discovery Engine is awesome!)

Tried MySpace, TagWorld (exact same as myspace ???), orkurt and facebook. They just don't compare at all. Bebo is very user-friendly. I think this is where it beats the competition. It is also being updated very often which again leads to an active community. Flashboxes, whiteboards, comments, polls are all easy to use.
It's not very tab friendly but I'd say most people don't use tabs anyway so it's not really an issue.

Myspace is pretty good..but i know lots of my friends dont know how to use html codes and stuff..so bebo's easy for them and me to use! If some1 that lives in another town or goes to a diffrent school doesnt have bebo i dont talk to them much..

Multiply is just the best in terms of what you can do. Unlimited video, audio, and photo uploads -- there is almost nothing more that a media junkie can want in their social networking site. I'm sick of MySpace but have one simply because most of my family & friends are on there. I'm totally loving Vox, as well, because it frankly has the best design and feels the most community-oriented out of all the social networking sites. However, in the end, Multiply has my vote, because it's...the best.
The end! Can't wait to see the results.
Love the security on this site and everything is so neat. MySpace is just too messy for me and too many random perverts surfing around. Multiply for some reason loads more slowly than the other sites for me. It's also messy for me.

I like how there's none of the "my site looks better then yours" stuff going on because everyone has the same layout. It's a nice place to meet friends and keep in contact with everyone.
