Just signed up, really like the idea and think it will be a winner in the office. Andrew, they actually block any payment from the US. In their payment rules they talk about 33 countries from which they accept money.

It's a British company, so it may be legal for them to host bets. But I think they could do with a few disclaimers/explanations about legality.

Agree. Maybe they calculate that the PR generated will be much greater. So far, they seem to be wrong though - we're the only blog I know of that covered it so far.

I don't see how the VCs could allow this. Investing $1 for every registered user is a terrible ROI- any good marketer will give you 10 users for $1!
