BTW: Dancing my a$$ away with the music on the demo! ;)

Re: your music comment: To each his own :-)

@ Jarrett. I think "legword" is similar to "foot in mouth" but I could be wrong ;-)

This app actually could be really useful for having the exact kind of Twitter conversations you want to have. Definitely be checking this one out.

Cool idea, but the last thing I need is ANOTHER Twitter.

I have been waiting for a service like this to come out for a while now. It would only be useful to me if I could rebrand it somehow to get rid of their lame design. I'd also be happy to pay for an option like that. Is that in the pipeline?

    Nice post!

I'd also invite you to check out Buzzable.com

We also allow you to build a micro-blogging community without the hassle.

Nice, but Zenect.com has something none of these have - a self-service SMS ad network. Think of Google Adwords/Adesnse, but made for SMS. Any person, team, business, whatever can post and even make money. I don't need another personal Twitter-like site, I want something that helps my business and helps me make some $$. That's Zenect.com. Check it out.

Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of a broad-scale microblogging network like Twitter? The point is to be able to blast your message out to many people, is it not? I see the point of Yammer, but other than intranet-based stuff like that I don’t see the point.

Open micro blogger is another great do-it-yourself-twitter. I've been thinking about starting a microblogger service that hotels (and eventually anyone) can add to their sites to make them more interactive. Basically, you would click on a button and a small window with a twitter would open up. Clients can quickly and easily request information from the hotel they're interested in staying at, and hotels can respond, either publicly or privately with information about the hotel/offers/discounts, etc. What do you think? Could this type of service work - it's not social like twitter - the dialogue is almost always only between two people (hotel & client). The service would be free. Any opinions/thoughts/ideas for how to make it better?

OMG is there a spam option to comments? lol... i believe a lot of people are commenting just to get the chance to put their url in another space...

No more communities can be created! I was informed of that when I tried to create on. Just a heads up for future community creators :)

I tried getting on to twingr but they are only accepting the first 500 people that sign up... try using http://buzzable.com they have an open beta going on right now.
