The geo restriction thing is the most urgent issue of all video on the net for profit. I have no problem paying for a service that allows me to watch content I want, especially without ads. However, like millions of travelers and ex patriots, we cant watch most of the video offered online because of the decision of TV content owners. Some day, they will be forced to see the light and the sooner the better.

In the meantime, Joost is worthless in much of the world because when you go to watch something, you get "Sorry, but the content is limited to the USA"

Remeber that CBS also is a Investor in Joost and just last week Joost did a public beta test of its live streaming protocol .....even if no one noticed.

That said i think Joost should look at getting onto game consoles via their internet browsers and use th their extensive experience in networking so Joost can be a client that streams video across your home network to your TV.That would also be good for Internet ready TVs

I have tried to use Joost and the content is boring. The bigger problem for me is that half the time it doesn't work on my computer, its a Dell Latitude Dx20 and my girlfriend who has a similar model has the same problem. I looked on their website and it seems that other users have the same problem with Dell's. Seems silly that they can't even fix a problem that affects one of the most popular models of the one of the most popular computer manufacturers in the world.

Couldn't agree more with Adam. Both Hulu and Joost are closed networks that only offer certain network TV shows to users. The Internet is meant to be OPEN, which is why neither of those services offer much value to customers. Sites like Veoh and Daiymotion are way more valuable because they're not limited to one type of content. I'm more inclined to spend time on a site like Veoh where I can watch TV and UGC in one sitting.

Joost is a dying breed, sadly.

(Mainly, Joost was just too slow with network latency for my liking. Good concept, just not enough infrastructure to support the consumer-base)
