very nice app but i'm still on the hunt for one that offers a "save for web" feature along the lines of photoshop's. i need an easy way for our website contributors to take the photos from their computer and save them in a web-friendly format. to my knowledge none of the online editors do this yet. am i wrong?

Most consumers are too lazy to learn photoshop, no matter how easy or affordable it becomes.
(car washes exist for the same reason)

My favorite is www.photochop.com - you upload a photo and have editors do the work. I have used them many times and love the service...

"It’s perfect, in fact, save for one annoying detail: you can’t resize a photo to be a certain number of pixels wide..."

Annoying detail fixed! We've just deployed a minor update to Picnik that adds pixel-perfect resizing. Give it a spin at www.picnik.com.

Thanks for the mention and if there are other features that would help with the day-to-day use of Picnik particularly for blogging purposes please let us know.

Picnic is not accessible due to a disturbing company (Adobe Flash Player) that stands in the way to log in.
The company asks to download a software though I do not require it. I use Picnic everyday. But today it's impossible for Adobe.
These companies are creating nuisance in the Internet for their vested interests.

Picnik is really great. There are other online photo editors that offer many good features, like Fotoflexer, but at the time, I think Picnik for the easy it is and because being Flickr editor, it's the winner.

Check out this video tutorial where there is a comparison between Picnik and Fotoflexer
