Uhm - they launched this close to a month ago to their customers in a quiet beta - I doubt it's due to last week's change. I also don't think this is an answer to Google - TLA and SA are completely different products - perhaps complements but not substitutes.

Well, Google's change hardly started last week - Matt Cutts warned about it months back. And TLA had concerns about Google tackling text links as early as the middle of last year. Go look at ReviewMe and the way that fits into the picture.

true Pete - but I doubt TLA's business will be severely affected - but it might take a hit.

If the main selling point of TLA is to boost your rank by buying text ads, and getting money for selling them, then why wouldn't it be a major issue for them?

    Hmmm,

This is so interesting. Google page ranks is not just about text ads site. Look at techrunch.com It goes from PR 8 to PR 7 :)

I have had very good success with these ads so far and the company president, Patrick, has been very helpful when I had questions on features, logging in, etc. Good service that's worth checking out.

I think it's affect should be significant but Shopping Ads should negate most of the effect it has on their bottom line.

Like it was said earlier, this has been in Beta for a while but it's still a very interesting service and (in my opinion) is more useful than AuctionAds for generating income on my sites.

I think that this recent action by Google will have a severe negative impact on TLA. Most people buy the links solely for PageRank purposes.

yes I felt myself.. My two sites using TLA are lowered in page rank...

one was 4page rank which is now 3 and second was 3 which is now 2 rank

Google moto is "do not evil" lol...

A week and a half later I'm pleased that our text link business is still going strong. We've actually had record sales this last week.

Google "clamping down" on paid links really is having no effect on business. Bring it on. :-)
