BlackBerry Outage Affecting North America
But I have been getting random spammy e-mails. Before the past two or three weeks, I received maybe two in the past two years that I've had a gmail account... It was disturbing. Hopefully it doesn't explode to dozens like other people...
Approximately 5-10 per day.
One of my reasons for moving to Gmail was Google's effective spam filter...
Hope this will be fixed soon.
A couple of weeks ago my GMAIL spam filter (usually virtually perfect) started leaking. In particular Nigeria style banking scam stuff - although mainly non Nigerian versions.)
Annoying
Maybe I'm just unloved by the spammers?
I have been getting lots of spam in my inbox. I was wondering that they are not being filtered automatically. And everytime I click the "report spam" button, I still get such emails. I get them from different domains.... seems to be a big problem... I have spam or my Orkut scrapbook(spam from friends!), spam in my Gmail inbox and its spam everywhere!
I have started hating Orkut too now!
and best thing is, when you send email to another gmail account, and when he reply you, his email is in spam folder.
are they nuts?
Whatever the case, I might be going back to SpamArrest, because I can't have "good" email going into my spam folder.
I also wish there was an easier way to report spam -- rather than checking all the boxes.. I want to enable a mode and then just click on messages in inbox and have them 'report to spam'.
I have one Gmail account there thousands of spammers are attacking day by day. Why Google don't take any action.
Really, really easy to spot spam messages are getting through, like "so and so software for $15!" or some really, really stupid spam I've been getting from the "beef industry" that I have marked as spam no less than 15-20 times already, and it STILL appears in my inbox (same sender, same basic content in the message). As well as advertisements for sitepal. Marked as spam, still coming to my inbox.
Also, not to mention my spam box has gone from getting roughly 20 messages a day in it to about 400. Can't completely blame that on gmail as who knows where these people got my email address from.

Seems like they are now using valid Mailservers,
for example. Do you need a translation ?
However, I've noticed a VERY sharp increase in both the amount of spam and the ineffectiveness of spam filters on my primary email account(s). Much more spam is getting through SpamAssassin and other filters than before.
The change has happened within the last 3 - 5 weeks.
The spam-box has reached its height in the XMas of 2005 (more than 1000 spam messages), and from then on the trend has been to slowly decrease the count (except for the holidays), even when I associated the GMail account with an older one.
Maybe there is a hidden variable in the reported increases of spam. POP3 x IMAP (I still use POP3)? Something else?
BUT:
In one of my blog posts I have noticed one interesting spam types.
Providing links using google ads:

Quite interesting ;)
ps : volume of spam is more likely related to who has your email address

I'm confident that the smart boys and girls at Google can figure this out.
I'll be interested to find out how they're doing this.

Since this is is an endless war, I am not really disturbed,. Most of spam is delivered to where it belongs.
