It is not comparable with Palabea. Palabea has no real instructional tools and is indeed unstructured. LiveMocha and also busuu are quite good to learn some words. But if you want to improve your foreignlanguage on a higher level, you ve got to find the right learningpartner, not matter if with palabeas busuus or LivaMochas network.

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

I think Fernando you work in this site...I think they have copied palabea. Palabea is the first one..and the others are only copies...palabea is great and your bussuu is only a cheap copy.!! please stopp spam....

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

I kind of agree with the last comment, I got a little bit lost in the palabea world...I though found another site for learning languages, which started very recently, www.busuu.com - it seems quite nice too!

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

hi everybody,

i must say that for me it's really great to be in Palabea,
i mostly use the Video-Chat and i found two friends from Japan
which i can practice my Japanese with. It's so nice - i made friends and
i learn what and how i want!!!

i wait to see if there are any new plans for a more pedagogic
learning system in Palabea but for me till now it's been real fun.

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

hi!
I joined palabea a couple of months ago, and i´ve seen it grow in users and features. They do take design seriously, and the usability is getting better. Waht I like the most is the new "offline exchange" feature, where you can meet people for real "face to face" language exchange. the video lectures are cool too , still to improve some widgets in the virtual classrooms.
Ok, I hope they keep up the good work.

thanx palabea

mike

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

Hi!
I like palabea! I have not had any problem! One thing I want to say is that they take care about their users. I have sent feedback and they answer me inmediatily. They are very simpatish, and I would like to say thank you to the palabea team!! Because they are great!!

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

Hi Spamm!!!

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

I've had an account here for quite a while. The site definitely has potential. The design and concept are both ready to go. Problem is, in the few months I've had my account, I haven't found what I'm particularly looking for. Then again, the languages I'm looking into aren't exactly what the majority want to learn.. Basically, all that's left is the participation from the community.

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

I did register without any problem a couple of months ago and i find it really interesting. Some people from all over the world have accessed me through my e-mail and since then we use the chat facility on a regular basis. Some of the lessons are good, too. I think it's really useful, especially if you're interested in languages as a tool and as cultural value as well.

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

I really love this site. Same error. I absolutely love the design though! I look forward to seeing it functional!

I have the language bug lately. I have been all over www.edufire.com, and thinking of getting the Rosetta Stone set for two different languages!

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

Looks to be very interesting. =)

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

This looks to be a great educational tool based on social networking

Re: Palabea: Community-Based Lingual And Cultural Education

Ditto, seems broken. There is another language lerning site - also from Berlin, Germany - called babbel.com. The design is kind of minimalistic, but the way how the tutorials are presented does make sense (at least to me).
