You really shouldn't forget the site http://kiva.org/ which marries Web 2.0 with the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, so to speak.

Let your money do some good, and get it back!

I think that web 2.0 entrepreneurs should take a stand and not join subpar sites like these that do more of a disservice to their cause than help.

I suspect the reason it was hard to find profiles on the www.ChangingThePresent.org site is that it had just launched when you blogged it, and there simply were not yet many profiles created.

This is a neat idea and closely mirrors my thoughts on "social sponsorship": http://www.ronaldlewis.com/blog/2006/12/sponsor...

If someone can build something like I've proposed above for the "rest of us", we'll really be on to something!

Lots of new features have been added to http://www.ChangingThePresent.org since it was first reviewed here. For each of 33 causes, you'll find featured nonprofits, volunteer opportunities, and news. Also, better registries, fundraising drives, and more.

    Take a look!
