I recommend http://www.maestro.fm - you can access your entire music library via the internet and create unlimited playlists.

Alexander: but it doesn't play similar artists and genre indefinetely as Last.fm does. I want to enter an artist or a track and have the same sound played for the rest of the stream. Like Last.fm. Spotify's Artist Radio is extremely limited.

@Adorian: Spotify has "similar artists" on artist pages. If you click on the "Artist radio"-tab and it plays the actual artist and similar artists. See http://screencast.com/t/RBX...

Spotify with its collaborate playlists is THE option for parties and personal use. If they implement a "Similar artist" feature like Last.fm - it will be a killer.

8 tracks may be the best here. File Factory is allowing something similar, but there is a sense of community at 8 tracks similar to muxtape that's fun. The others don't work for me. I've punched in a dozen artists I really enjoy, some older some newer and none show up. Seems that one must be fully mainstream to enjoy the self created "radio" - seems a bit redundant.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for coverage. Two quick clarifications: as Chris notes above, mixes can be longer than 8 tracks. Also, you *can* listen to your own mixes without any time restriction if you upload your own MP3s (which most tend to do). If you use the "Network" tracks others have uploaded, you'll hear 30-second clips for the those non-uploaded tracks during the first 24 hours (this is to comply with the requirements of the compulsory license). Your listeners always hear full-length tracks.

Definitely some cool sites here. I personally prefer using my own company's site FlyFi.com since its extremely easy to use and provides great recommendations from its engine. The rec's are different than say Last.fm or Imeem which tend to be repetitive. The fact FlyFi ties in free mp3 downloads with its streaming rec's is a great concept. Hope some of you check it out!!

My question is, do any of these work in Canada?

So far I know that neither Pandora or Slacker will work with a Canadian IP address. Are there any that do? I need to find new music for myself!
