A lot of offerings to solve a problem we have because it is still not clear which of the social networks will survive the next years. All this social networking becomes more and more strange from month to month.

Does it really make sense to use such a tool instead of selecting those networks that are really relevant? Where's the business case in it?

Retaggr wasn't around when this list was compiled, but should definitely be on it! Not only is it the ultimate profile aggregation tool, you get a portable business card that can be embeded anywhere, totally customizable widgets with your content, email forwarding, email signatures, etc. etc. Really good for social stuff, but also business. I love it...seriously the king in this department.

I love what happens when everyone comes out with multiple formats for something. Then plugins and modifications are developed to allow synchronization between them all. If they would only collaborate at the beginning, we could avoid this all. Either way, great article!

What's the most interactive one (i.e. not just an aggregation of all your feeds)? And does data actually go back into the given networks, or is it just interactive for other members of the given Social Aggregation site to see, but nobody on the networks and services fed to it? I.e. does any of these have the "Write Once, Read Everywhere" feature, kind of like the way Tube Mogul lets you post a video to multiple video sites by posting once to their site???

Some social networking aggregators are missing the point. Being on these networks shouldnt be about looking at your own profile. It should be about using them to interact with other people on the same network.

There should be a clearer distinction between content and communication.
