Hi Pete, your comments on positioning are very true. There are good reasons why sites such as PhotoBucket don't try and do everything at once, its so that the value prop to the user is simple and easy to convey. I am sure that FileMobile will eventually work out who their customers are and who they want and will tune the message and features around that. 'blog this' is pretty cool but bloggers already have far too many options when it comes to media and I think we are all a bit *yawn* about it.

    Nik,

Yep, well Photobucket didn't start by doing everything at once, but I think they could now. The important thing is to start focused - once you have a massive community like MySpace or Photobucket, you can do virtually anything (both have expanded into video, for instance).

Thanks for your review of Filemobile. Our alpha phase at Filemobile is an apt term for not just the product development phase but also the business development phase. We are gathering feedback, and fine tuning our business plans as much as we are our product. Your point about positioning is and interesting one. We are not trying to be a Photobucket or a Youtube. Rather we are trying to do two things: i) Be the ultimate media management tool for bloggers. This will allow bloggers build their own ROCKETBOOM as an example (providing they have a host of course), and ii) We want to enable online brands to actively gather and product social media from their audiences. How we position this is something we are continuing to work on.

Again thanks for the feedback! It is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your feedback. In response to comments that the site is too complex, we recently added a Dashboard page that users will see after logging in. This page will allow users to upload files more quickly and simply, view comments that other users leave for them, and provide short-cut links to the most commonly used features, such as blog settings. Expect new things from us in April! And please keep the feedback coming.
