Mashable - The Social Media Guide: 2008/11/10/best-start-pages/

I was a big user (for many years) of MyYahoo as my start page. I guess I was just too lazy to change over to anything else. However, when they did their re-design a short while back ... I resisted and resisted and than was forced to make the change. I lost about half my feeds when they converted me. My Mashable feed got dropped in the conversion as well. I'm now using www.TabUp.com after reading about it in Mashable. I've created multiple Tabs to aggregate my interests and have added personal feeds like Mashable on my main tab. I guess you can say that I'm Mashing up my life :-)

Out of some strange habit, I still prefer and use MSN.com as my start page on my default browser. I think I may have tried iGoogle as my start page for a while in the past, but ultimately went back to MSN. I like to glimpse the headlines when I first go online, then use my bookmarks in the bookmark bar (using Ctrl+T) to open all my daily sites to check in different tabs.

It was Chosr (http://chosr.com/), but then I got Ubiquity for Firefox (http://labs.mozilla.com/2008/08/introducing-ubi...) and so now I just use a blank page.
I can go wherever I want with a few keystrokes.

No, Pageflakes did NOT 'throw in the towel' at all. I'm astonished that you'd write something this slapdash. Pageflakes is still going strong - thousands of people use it every day, and I think it's very unprofessional for you to suggest otherwise.

I also love the idea of 'traditional start pages'. While you may sit in your own rarified castle it may be a surprise to you that the vast majority of people still haven't heard about them!

WHERE did pageflakes go!??!?!?!?!? I have been using it for over two years as my homepage. It has not come up for two days now...I'm gasping for air without it. Help!!!

DrudgeReport.com -- I like that I don't have to search for what's in the news, or even go through RSS feeds, immediately. Someone else does it and it's extremely popular that it sets the tone for the day's name. Of course it's conservative-leaning so it's not for everyone.

I started using iclick2view.com as my start page which has all my favorite websites are just a click away. It allows to create your home page and access it every where.

Check the USA start page http://www.iclick2view.com/basetbl.php?lid=USA for every day browsing.
