This is ridiculously cool. I just made it my new start page (and I haven't used anything besides a blank start page for the past year). Very, very cool hack, Stefan!

It's nice to see someone hasn't forgotten the old school geeks still hanging on. CLIs aren't just fast, they're elegant.

    I couldn't agree more, jeber.

Something about having a CLI makes technology seem more real and hands on. Any sufficiently proficient designer can click a mouse and adhere to style guidelines when creating a gui interface.

Making a CLI that's widely popular and useful at the same time is an arcane art form.

The API you are looking for is Jose Nazario's duckylib:

    http://monkey.org/~jose/wiki/doku.php?id=wiki:d...

which has a (real) command line interface and python bindings to a lot of web services.

    Goosh, a Google Command Line

Goosh.org hosts an unofficial Google interface which “behaves similar to a unix-shell,” as the author Stefan Grothkopp explains. For instance, entering n disney will result in a Google News search for the keyword “disney”. Type help to see some of the other available commands, like lucky (an “I’m feeling lucky” search), wiki (a Wikipedia search), blogs, or video. Note this project is not the first try at a Google command line utility, though one previous such site I know of seems to be down now. [Thanks Stefan!]

LOL DOSâ„¢, i think you never used a shell, this last one is far...far more powerful than a stupid DOSâ„¢ even though DOS is an OS in fact! :)

    Stefan, hat off!
