"Today Bigulo announced the launch of a “Hot or Not” service for Bebo called “Who Is Hotter?”. Predictably, it pulls profile photos from Bebo and asks you to rate them - something that the MySpace Layouts folks thought of many months ago. In addition to rating guys and girls, you can find the highest rated photos, see how your votes ruinromo.com to the average and click through to view the user’s profile. At the risk of giving away a killer idea, I’m willing to bet they could increase the pageviews at least ten times by allowing users to vote on certain regions, colleges or universities- who’s the hottest person at your school, or in your university? I think Bigulo have hit the mark with this latest launch, and I expect it’ll be massively popular."

In short no. We're not competing with Bebo in any sense, and in reality, we're just a complementary product. By allowing indie software developers to build a suite of products around their core area, they are fostering a community effectively, so in that sense the best thing for Bebo to do would be to allow as many little spin offs as possible develop. It allows for brand proliferation.

This is a cool site but I do wonder how long it'll be before Bebo nukes it. As far as I know, Bebo doesn't have an API or RSS feeds so they may not be pleased with a site scrapping profile pictures and displaying it on an ad-supported site. Bigulo, have you thought of a way to deal with this?
