First of all, thanks for the review! It's an honor to be on Mashable.

@ Luke- The service allows bloggers to create a facebook app, not download one. The application that is linked to at the top of the article is just an example of what is created (this one is made by Leo of ZenHabits.net). So you don't pay to download an application, you pay to create and have the application hosted.

This sounded like a great idea to me to get some added exposure for my (relatively new) blog. So I went to sign up and it turns out they want money to sign up/download the application! This seemed really silly to me since so many other facebook apps are free! can you recommend a similar service that doesn't charge you to install the application? Thanks!
