I randomly found this ma.gnolia website while attempting to find out wtf this wannabe MAHALO website is.. ironically, I find ma.gnolia is just what is that one is as well... a copy of another website, and a douchebag who owns it trying to make a "google" or a "youtube" happen... what a loser... not gonna happen MA.GNOLIA or MAHALO.

Try being different from google and digg, and someone might buy your ideas you users!

These type of sites just make me laugh because I always know I will never ever hear the name again.

i like ma.gnolia because it makes a saved copy of the bookmark. in this way, i won't have to worry i'll lose the content of what i'm bookmarking if the server removes it.

The groups feature is terrific, microformats with cork'd point to interesting possibilities. It's also good looking too.

I agree with your conclusion on Ma.gnolia. It just seems to be the same old thing but with a pretty twist. I go like the Groups feature though.

I do not completely agree. There are indeed too many social bookmarking and photo sharing sites. But are there too many ajax start pages and online calenders? There are only a few ajax start pages that really work and their is no online calender that does the job well. But there are a lot of social bookmark sites that work, that's the problem, there all working well and non-beta! So I don't really understand why developers put all their efforts in it... On the other side, I'm still waiting for that perfect online calender (with import and export features) and ajax startpage (supporting multiple page for example), so they should be spending time on those applications because there is no number 1 yet.

You are absolutely right. SB services need something new, any cool feature(s) to be started, else they are a kind of obsolete. Now, I always have to find criterias to not include any of these new emerging services into my charts at http://www.irox.de/roxomati... (I suppose you know it).

Hi there, and thanks for checking out Ma.gnolia. A slight correction - we don't have a voting system. We have a rating that you can assign to each of your bookmarks, but that rating is your own and not an aggregated total.

Naturally I don't quite agree that we're just more of the same. Usually when technologies are new there's a proliferation of them, and hopefully the best or close to best ideas shake out from that. We have no illusion that there aren't other people in the same field as us, and yet we see terrain to be explored, and we think we can provide something that others aren't. But you have to start somewhere, and that means the basics. That's what you see with us right now, is the foundation for where we're going. Maybe you can check us out again sometime and see if we catch your interest.

i've been using ma.gnolia for some time now and i like it :D
well, i've tried using del.icio.us before, but i just plain didn't like it.
they're linkroll isn't all that yet, but they told me they would improve it (well, i'm easy to convince)

though it's pretty clear there are already way too much of these nasty little things, ma.gnolia is a good one. i would recommend it, and no one paid me for that (they could though, heh heh?)
