I have only been involved in Social Networking for a few months, and it takes a lot of hard work. I have been especially involved with Myspace and I am having a great time over there. Thanks for the great article.

Re: MySpace Marketing – Ask A Ninja

Love this site really good info

Thanks

Re: MySpace Marketing – Ask A Ninja

Me, personally…I use myspace for networking and for its free blogs.

If you post relevant content to your myspace blog, and add niche-related friends to your friends list…make sure you also visit your new friend’s blog, and click ‘Invite to My Blog’ underneath their pic.

If they subscribe, then myspace will notify them on their home page whenever you make a blog post.

All I know is that my blog posts to my subscribers pull in more traffic than corny old bulletins.

T.M. There are many people who don't use these social networks and if you target market are those individuals you'll never reach them via these medias. Of course the upside is that it's all free so even if it didn't work you really haven't lost anything but time.

Thanks the the heads up on ask a ninja! What I would like to see more of are pieces describing what they actually did to create the initial spark that got everyone's attention. Your blog definitely covers this topic, but I'm still hungry for more.

Also, has video already trumped soundly the Podcast movement? I even read a piece the other day that asked if the Podcast movement would ever have the explosive growth it was supposed to have:

http://www.clickz.com/news/...

Robert

Re: MySpace Marketing – Ask A Ninja

Pete,
Marketing 2.0 / Branding 2.0, whatever you want to call it, I am just happy that there is more discussions about this, as it is a very powerful effect that is going on right now!

Re: MySpace Marketing – Ask A Ninja

Pete, I just found your blog and a couple of things jump out at me. First, the site looks great. Simple and clean without looking Guugly (That's "Google ugly"). Second, you do a wonderful job of pulling together all these concepts and making sense of them. Things are changing so quickly that I think we all sometimes get overwhelmed with the possibilities. I'm a little less overwhelmed for having found your blog, so thanks.

Re: MySpace Marketing – Ask A Ninja

Pete,

I make no claim to being either the first or only to have said this: http://publishing2.com/2006...

I guess great minds think alike :)

More important though, your example is a great one -- the implications for the economics of 2.0 are HUGE.

Re: MySpace Marketing – Ask A Ninja

BillyG,

Good point.
