I find these two heat map of traffic accidents morbidly fascinating and a nice way to spot bad intersections in the US: www.RiskyRoads.org and www.DUImap.org

nice! I wonder how accurate the taxi mashup is - I always here about taxi drivers taking "the long" route when they know they've got some foreigners in the cab.

Found a Google Mapplet for finding crime anywhere in the United States, http://www.postacrime.com. I've noticed that they currently have data in major metropolitan areas such as Seattle and Columbus. Worth checking out IMHO.

Nice one !..

I too developed a Mashup using Google Maps API.

Search business/Gas stations/Stores along the route within a specified radius. Also it gets you the shortest direction to visit all the locations on the way.

Over here in Canada there are some great mashups as well. Check out http://www.okfairway.com, the site allows you to find golf Courses in Ontario Canada quickly it also has integrated weather and driving directions...
