Hello from across the pond. We have great Google Maps mashups over here too! The first and finest of which (slightly biased) is http://www.ononemap.com.
Check out the map layers panel to the right... collapsible to maximise the map view. Lots of other nice touches too such as data clustering, anti-collision, nifty centering (around schools, motorway junctions, tube stations etc.), great short-list facility, etc.

Sightseeing has never been easier! With ClipGlobe's World Video Map, and Video Earth now you can watch and map videos on Google Maps and Google Earth.
Search business/Gas stations/Stores along the route within a specified radius. Also it gets you the shortest direction to visit all the locations on the way.
Found a Google Mapplet for finding crime anywhere in the United States, http://www.postacrime.com. I've noticed that they currently have data in major metropolitan areas such as Seattle and Columbus. Worth checking out IMHO.

nice! I wonder how accurate the taxi mashup is - I always here about taxi drivers taking "the long" route when they know they've got some foreigners in the cab.
