The tools are rudimentary and the site is a little buggy but I'll be sending links out to friends promoting my new cult so maybe they'll get some viral help from the early adopters.

Long live Melissa Theuriau!

Re: Cultspace: MySpace for Cults

"That 700,000 members figure is total fiction."

Hehe - yeah, that's what I assumed too. Although I guess I should clarify in the post.

I'd also like to point out that my 25 trillion friends on MySpace are completely real. ;)

Re: Cultspace: MySpace for Cults

I wonder what advertisers are likely to spend on it? Pretty redundant even if the numbers do get bigger. Macdonalds spending money on the strawberrymilkshake cult? They might as well get on TV.

Re: Cultspace: MySpace for Cults

This could work in time as "gifted" cult leaders build their networks of LOYAL followers and we all know how blindly loyal they can be but the power will always be with the cult leaders rather than Cultspace. Certainly a great idea by someone that understands historically evident social behaviors.

Re: Cultspace: MySpace for Cults

Haha I think thats hilarious, impressive that they have over 700,000 members.

Re: Cultspace: MySpace for Cults

Decent idea, at least for it's niche. The problem of course is that this isn't linked to Big Mama. There doesn't seem to be too much of a point to making these kinds of doomed-to-fail niche social networking sites when they should really be mashups of larger networks, presumably Myspace.

Of course, this also means that Myspace should be bending over backwards to accomodate for third party mini-nets. Which they aren't.

Le sigh.

Re: Cultspace: MySpace for Cults

Funny! At least we're now seeing that "mainstream" segmentation of social networking sites. Thats right, build your next products for sex freaks and wierdos.
