It may be worthwhile to note that Bandspaces.com actually made SEVERAL of these profiles.

That company is EASILY the best at customizing Myspace profiles.

    1.) Eisley is great. :-)

2.) Why is M.I.A. and most especially Kate Nash even on this list? I love their music, but their myspace profiles are hideous.
  • Screen Sleuth · 1 year ago
All I know is, I have a friend who is fanatical about MySpace, and any change in MySpace design concepts is a good thing, as many of the designs on profiles are absolutely hideous.
  • James · 1 year ago
OK, seriously, this was super annoying to have in my RSS reader. Don't ever do 50 anything ever again. Seriously.
  • Guest · 1 year ago
Why only bands? I'm sure individuals have nice myspaces. mine is over 2 years old now and a pain to update but I think it still holds up. I removed my top list b/c too many people are private profiles now... kinda defeats the point in my opinion.

Wow! Thank you so much for such a flattering review of our MySpace Designs. We absolutely love creating MySpace Designs and are churning out even more as I type! :)

So many of the other profiles you have listed here are gorgeous, as well. We're big admirers of BandSpaces' work over here at OutLoudMarketing.com! Great posting!

    Thanks again,
    Dana

Wow! My client Goodnight Caulfield just emailed me and told me about how their page I designed made it to a top 50!

I am super stoked! Thanks for the kind words!

BTW - I'd just like to add that it is NOT a bandspaces.com profile.
  • Ashley · 1 year ago
Great article! I see you scoured the Bandspaces client list and pulled up quite a few. Even their older clients with redesigned pages like lenny kravitz, goodnight caulfield, the almost, ken hyland and more seem to have been found through their website.. since it's just too odd that all of the ones from their roster would be randomly chosen without prior knowledge. nice!

btw - if you're interested in seeing more work by us, Synapse, look at our portfolio :)

    Wow, Kyle Adams.

You really make yourself sound like a dick. I've been reading your site/comments and basically, your angle is to bash other small design companies and then offer better prices to their existing clients. Is this right?

You could achieve more by humbling yourself and learning some helpful secrets from others. They will help you if you give them constructive criticism instead of bashing their work.

One of your profiles made it to a top 50 on MASHABLE. Jesus, dude. That is no reason to gloat like you're the god of web design.

Makes me wonder if people actually come to YOU for work, or if you just hawk the client lists of other companies. GOOD JOB, MAN!
  • Kyle Adams · 1 year ago
I sincerely apologize if some of my attitude comes off the way it does. Its not meant to. Believe me, I was extremely humbled when I was told I had a layout up here. Not that I was directly credited - it was cool to have been chosen.

In regards to emailing the band directly. I had always been curious what bandspaces charged. I agree it was wrong to steal or take business from another company - I recognize and apologize for that. I wasn't sure how to go about getting clients when I started doing this. I wasn't aware of the right and wrong ways of business, which I'm still slowly learning. I just wanted to do work.

The link I posted to Synapse, none of those works are mine. I didn't start working with them until about 6 months ago.

I hope this clears some of this up and can understand my position.
  • Kyle Adams · 1 year ago
I openly admit and recognize that I have made bad judgement calls, and am sincerely sorry for these.

I appreciate those who brought this to my attention, and again I apologize for my actions.

I love Joss Stone! These are much more interesting than the layouts MySpace provides...they are weak...srsly.

Is there some kind of insider trick? Why wont my code go on top of the myspace banner?
  • Helena Jessie · 11 months ago
Thanks so much for including my Myspace in this list, I recently launched my new skin, I hope you'll find the rest of the page "less ordinary" now!
    Cheers

Really cool list. I'd give extra points to a page like Censura only because I find not enough pages spend the time to incorporate the music player but those guys did it really well.

Just throwing it out there, if you have basic html knowledge and a little photoshop in you, there are a lot of sites out there with free tutorials that help explain step by step how to change a lot on a band myspace page. Our budget was really tight and after getting discouraged from all the quotes we got (even from some sites mentioned here), we decided to roll up our sleeves and do it on our own.

Here's our band page to give you an idea and this was a temp page we put up as we'll be doing a lot of other cool modifications that we're reading and learning about right now:

These layouts are really nice. It is very great that you can redesign Myspace in such fundamental way. That really makes it MY space. ;-)
  • Richard Brown · 6 months ago
Zaum & Brown recently designed a new myspace page for a new band called Sick City Club, I think it looks better than a lot mentioned http://www.myspace.com/sickcityclubmusic they also did a nice site for another new band called Delta Rush http://www.myspace.com/deltarush, more info on Zaum & Brown here http://www.zaum.co.uk

I like twitter for social networking and keeping track of my friends but its no bueno when it comes to discovering bands. I find the layout of myspace to be nauseating so I've been using www.putiton.com to find and follow new music acts.

Once you figure out how to manipulate these pages, you can make them look so much better.
Here is one I just finished.

I would like to know where I could find some information on doing the same to my MYSPACE page? What I have found is that there are many talented people who do them but either charge you the 40 acres & mule for their services, or won't respond back. I have an interest in learning how to tweak and modify myspace pages like the top 50.
