It would be ok if there was one every fifteen minutes or so, but these ads pop up every minute, or less. They take up a quarter of the video box. STICKAM it is.

Re: Ustream to Begin Testing Overlay Ads in Live Video Streams

I agree with Tuesday Night Tech Bring back the shout button. As I've stated in to some of the ustream.tv staff I would also like to see a kick back from these adds. Just like the old saying goes, "It takes two" that is so relevant in this case. They need us and we need them! I stream a 24-7 for the most part and there are always people in my chat willing to help and give some sort of tech support if I'm not there. But it would be nice to get some kickback for doing giveaways and such. I think it would boost ustream.tv's viewer ratings along with streamers doing shows more often. Lets face it. Life isn't free. Thanks for letting me be apart in this trial.

Steve

Re: Ustream to Begin Testing Overlay Ads in Live Video Streams

As a fellow Ustream broadcaster, I would hope that somewhere down the line the actual streamers could see some of this revenue somehow; I'd stay with Ustream either way (as I've said many times before), but, throw a bit of that coin back to the broadcasters and watch the quality and quantity of shows increase greatly. Ustream knows what they are doing and they have been on the ball each and every step of the way (except for removing the beloved "shout" button from our streams). Only time will tell...

Re: Ustream to Begin Testing Overlay Ads in Live Video Streams

Needs to be revenue sharing built in or else people will be angry that their streams are being used to sell stuff and they get nothing out of it.

Also I figured this was coming seeing as how I was able to check a test add way back in april on a stream I regularly watch. If I am watching 10 videos do I have to close ads for 10 times?

Re: Ustream to Begin Testing Overlay Ads in Live Video Streams

Wow. Gotta catch your show then next week. I missed it this past tuesday. I'm kinda wondering myself if it's gonna work. Imma thinkin that people are just gonna x out the ads as soon as they see them. The ads ae really gonna have to be really targetted.

Or Or Or .. maybe just maybe Ustreamers could in fact choose the ads they want somehow. Maybe that would be acceptable if it doesn't go over well.

Berry interesting stuff.
