As I understand it, YouMail is completely free, with mobile access through the web and voice to text, while other services charge, some quite a bit. Makes living with a web browser implementation well worth it for me.

I havent tried any of the other services yet, mainly because the set up is kinda tedious, but YouMail has been really useful to me.
I have been using for about a year now and wondered how i used to live with out it. I much rather listen to my voice mails on my pc for free!
And setting up customized voice mail greetings for different callers is much easier through YouMail than my blackberry.

SimulSays is NOT free. It is $4.99/month unless you subscribe to the Phone Tag Service, who happens to own SimulSays but doesn't disclose that until you try to sign up.
Another classic Bait and Switch.

What you say is just not true. Our website is very clear as are our prices.
1. SimulSays is FREE with a PhoneTag account. 2. Anyone who wants to just get a SimulSays account (they do not want transcription) has to pay $4.99 per month. Which is disclosed 100% on the SimulSays website.
We are a very upfront and correct company. We do not use bait and switch or anything else.
Additionally based on the way your comment is written I am almost sure that you work for some sort of competitor.

Jamie - Can you explain how I can actually get SimulSays without paying anything at all - my definition of free? It doesn't sound like I can - it's like the grocery store giving me a free bagel if I buy $10 worth of groceries. There's no actual way to get the bagel without paying something to the store.
But other services do seem to be "truly free" - you don't have to pay them anything at all for their service or their mobile experience. YouMail as one example, GrandCentral as another.

If you read my earlier post I was very clear that you can not get the product without paying anything. Our application is the only 3rd party visual voicemail application in the market and is targeted towards business users who require security, up time, customer service, etc. We are in the business of making a profit (sorry I know this is a little bit of a crazy model) which is why we chose to charge money for our services.
We do allow our transcription customers free access to the SimulSays application but that does involve having a paid account with us.
The other 2 services that you talk about do not deliver the same product that we do so a comparison is tough to make,
