A new advertising way which is unobtrusive and at the same time interactive. I hope this new inniative will become a success, because for advertisers you can now interactively target a potential consumer. From promoting a facebook application within another facebook app to having a mortgage calculator on a finance site. The ability to be able to have whatever you want within the overlay will open a whole new world of posibilities to online advertising. My only concern is that publisher will shy away from this Ad Network because if it becomes highly targeted it may overshadow their own website. Ofcourse not a problem if the publishers are paid well ;-).

The is a great sounding platform but the potential revenue for publishers seems like it would be less. would that discourage its growth? It is certainly a great model for advertisers, but will publishers bite?

@ Elso Kant - Most users will agree that video ads are a bit obtrusive to begin with. I do think that as they become more pervasive, the tolerance factor will grow.

@ Zach Blank - Good point, marginal publishers who are already struggling to retain audience seem to me like they would be reluctant. Far easier to live off of ill-defined CPM models than to have to put your money where your mouth is and prove your content drives purchases.

This should be interesting to watch unfold.

It's amazing how far online video has come. The demand is so intense YouTube isn't even sufficient enough to fulfill the demand for video. Niche video sites like Adwido are emerging to fill in the gaps where YouTube falls short.
