I love it. I really think more bloggers should look at this - its a great way to let your trusted readers come to you first to decipher if and how they want to dive into a given story. It could based on the traffic that a conversation is generating or to find opposing/supporting arguements.
I'm sure you guys will find an elegant way to integrate this into Mashable.

Labs is still doing research and selling reports to Photobucket et al, but they don't have time to do posts anymore. The research is pretty interesting though - maybe I should write some of it up as posts. Like, we first knew Imeem was getting big because Mashable Labs saw it growing in MySpace. I get reports from them every week on the state of MySpace widgets.
